Pricey but good
Needed a black hat and wanted this style. £40 is twice as expensive as other black hats but well worth every penny!

looks good, but not certified according to European standars (yet)
I bought this amazing-loking titfer to wear on site, hence my question re. CE marking and certifications. Whilst three people answered that the CE marking/certification was (maybe?) there, the specimen that arrived today only had certification according to ANSI, CSA as mentioned in the product description. (See also attached images). So if you have a H&S stickler on site in UK/EU they may not be happy for you to use this dashing piece of PPE unless the case can be made that the US/CAN certifications meet the same standards. Having said that, in the meantime the manufacturer has confirmed that currently the hat is not certified according to EU standards, but they are considering it. (fingers crossed!) I will keep a JSP hat with me, just in case...OK, so let's look beyond the small print. The hat is seriously lightweight and rigid. the 4-point strap sits comfortably and allows for minute adjustments to fit your noggin. It has a sweat band (front) and a soft cushioning pad (rear) and what looks like sockets for ear defenders inside. There are also two anchor points (for visor?) at the front, just under the brim. Definitely the coolest lid on the block.
