Daiwa Tatula 7 FT 2 In Medium Heavy Extra Fast Spinning Rod
Pros: The rod is light weight and handles well with the Daiwa Ballistic LT 2500D-XH reel. I use it primarily for catching large mouth bass using Texas rigged 5 inch stick worms like the Yamamoto Senko in and around heavy cover, where it has the power to set the hook and fight big fish out of the weeds, as well as the ability to skip the lure under overhanging trees into submerged branches without back-lashing. I especially appreciate the fore grip on Tatula spinning rods that extends in front of the reel, for it enables me to fight heavy fish with greater leverage than is afforded by simply hanging onto the reel itself.Cons: As with my other 6 Tatula rods, including both spinning and bait casting models, the hook keeper is placed where any slack line tends to hang-up. To remedy this, I've found it necessary to use a piece of waterproof Band Aid brand medical tape to close off the opening.

Breaks easily
I bought a Tatula 6111MLXS about a year ago and loved it for about six months, then the tip (top 6") splintered. Because it was under warranty I paid the shipping to return it to the Daiwa service center and soon got a replacement. That was in August, 2014. I have taken it out perhaps 10 times since then, and yesterday noticed the end section again shattered (splintered). The top 6" of this rod is very fine, so I've been cautious not to allow it to catch on anything. I use 8"# flourocarbon line, and the rod is rated for 3-10#. I've been using it for bass fishing and love the way it handles. Very light and balanced. But after having two of them break, I definitely wouldn't recommend it to anyone else. I'm hoping that under the warranty they will replace it with a different rod.
