Works perfectly with regular SmartThings hub
First off, unlike some of the SmartThings/ADT sensors, these DO NOT NEED the ADT hub. They paired immediately and work just fine with the regular SmartThings hub. It's not totally clear from the product photos, but these have 3 small contacts on the bottom side that nearly touch the ground. Whenever water creates a path between 2 of the contacts, the sensor will trip and alert you. Additionally, the top surface is cup shaped, leading to a channel with 2 more contacts that will trip the alarm if more than a few drops of water fall on the top.I tested both the top and bottom sensors, and they were pretty sensitive! The bottom sensors would detect the film of water left on a flat plate after rinsing it off, and the top sensor needed less than a teaspoon of water dripped on top to set it off.As an added bonus, the sensors also report the temperature, and can be used in any automations that allow a temperature sensor to be used as a trigger!I bought two of these when they were on sale for $10, and will definitely buy a few more if they ever go on sale again.

Requires ADT Hub. Does not work with only SmartThings Hub
Some reviews and Q&A for this sensor are inaccurate. You can not pair and use it as waterleak sensor with just SmartThings Hub. I tried to pair it as SmartThings Waterleak Sensor as some people here suggested. You can see device on SmartThings after pairing but it’s not recognized as Waterleak Sensor which makes it useless for automation. It requires ADT Hub to be recognized as Waterleak Sensor.

It works GREAT !!!
This is important because a few years ago the carpet in my basement office was wet. Searching for the cause, our prior water heater was leaking in the storage room. We have tried other wet-floor devices - BUT - We can not hear the alarm when testing. This wet-floor device sends a signal to our smart phones through the Samsung SmartThings Home Hub. We can add other security devices in the future.

Works with Smartthings V2 Hub
Bought three of these back in Aug 18. Paired right up with a V2 hub, no problems. Accidentally spilled some H2O2 under the sink in the bathroom and it went off. Works so far! 89% battery after 4 months and one of the furthest devices I have away from the hub with no repeater in between. Not too shabby!

Pairs just fine with SmartThings Hubv2!
Pairs just fine with SmartThings Hubv2. Also, this has a very nice design where it will detect water which lands on it's top or pools around it on the bottom. The long battery life is awesome for making sure our tankless water heater which is installed in the attic isn't leaking.

Useless! Can't connect this to our current ADT system.
This device requires a Samsung Smart Hub to operate but not your normal, existing ADT system. We just called ADT and they clarified that they can come out and install a water detector - with their technicians to program it. It sure would have been nice if this were clear in the description.

Great z wave leak detection.
Great little Leak Detector. I bought one 2 years ago and it has worked perfectly. Battery still hasn't been changed. I just bought 2 more for other areas of my home.

New design has twice as many features.
Much better than previous designs, this leak detector proactively monitors for leaks - meaning it will catch the drips and trigger if placed under a leaking water source (i.e. kitchen faucet connections, fridge icemaker connections). Most leak detectors require a puddle to form before being triggered.
