Just what I wanted and a great price.

This is a great pruning set for most small to medium sized plants. I have some spread throughout my property, both inside and outside my house, and this has helped me prune some of the dead branches and bits off. The straight blade scissor pruner is very helpful for reaching into plants that have many stems shooting out and you may only want to clip 1 or 2 of them. Sneaking the blade through the density isn't possible sometimes with the bypass pruner. I think the lengths are nice and the blades themselves are sharp enough to cut through smaller plants easily. Each of these pruners have a retention claw at the bottom that holds the blades closed when they are not in use. When you are ready to use them, simply rotate the claw and free the grips.It's important to note that these are not intended for thick branches. The description states that they're recommended for up to 10mm (bypass pruner), and 6mm (straight scissor pruner). I haven't and wouldn't push this product beyond those ranges because they would most likely fail. They are definitely more for light use.For their intended purpose and for how I use them, these pruning shears work nicely and I would highly recommend them for anyone that also has some light pruning to do. I also think the price is fair for 2 of them. Hope this helps!

The WORKPRO pruning set is a very basic, meet your needs item.They are listed as a "professional pruning shear set." But when you look at the pictures of what they are cutting and read the description that "These premium pruning clippers are ideal for harvesting or trimming herbs, flowers, house plants, hydroponics, bonsai, cutting stems or light branches, or other cutting needs in the garden." That is probably pretty accurate - they are mentioning gardening, and I am sure the shears are great for that. I live in the desert and need to trim shrubs and trees - these really are not heavy duty enough to tackle some of my needs.But .... gardening with flowers and fruit they should be fine. The bypass cutter works well, and the straight blade is nice for small item trimming. On heavier items the handles flex all of the way together which is a concern, but that could be me picking the wrong tool for the project.Considering there are two items in the set, they are a fair price for the two. They are light and not too bad for hand comfort. Overall construction is simple. The bypass blades do seem to open as much as they should.The safety latch is different. It needs to be locked all of the way horizontal, otherwise every time you cut the shears will want to lock.Overall if you are looking for light, economical shears for your gardening, these could be for you.

I used these all summer long. I like the latch on the bottom to keep them closed. After using them all summer, the blades are still cutting flowers easily. Highly recommend.

The handles are made out of wrinkled nylon, and the metal blades only reach to where the spring is located so the handle is not reinforced with a steel core. Although the handle shape is comfortable, the nylon material and wrinkled surface does not prevent your hand from sliding towards the blade end when you put a little power in your squeeze. The handles also flex a little too easily when you squeeze. I tried cutting a 1/4" dry tangerine branch with the bypass pruner. Although it was able to, it took a bit of power and the handle flex was concerning but the handle didn't break.

My old pruning shears had seen better days - dull and rusty.While I was originally only looking for a curved pruning shear, getting a matching straight blade scissor in this pack worked out well for me.I used the curved pruning shears to cut those thicker items and they worked great - nice an sharp.Then I grabbed the straight blade scissors and made quick work of all those pesky smaller plant shoots. Sure you could use the curved blade pruner to do both but the large blade scissor made it a bunch quicker.The locking latch in the back of the handle is also a nice design. My old pruners also had a lock and that lock would sometimes engage when I was trying to use them. On this design, this lock stayed out of the way until I needed it.

I like the lightweight yet sturdy design of these clippers. I have used the thin shears many times this summer for pruning my tomato plants. The thin blades allow me to get between the bushy branches to trim the ones I need. They are easy to use and do not hurt my hand. You do not need to apply a lot of pressure to use these clippers. The blades are sharp and cut through my vines with ease.

....but not good for cutting anything with a tough or thick stem.I like the straight blade scissors best, as they work beautifully on trimming leaves on plants and cut flowers. They're nice and sharp and do a great job.I'm not that impressed with the pruners as they seem very weak to me, and I don't like the safety locks at all. The safety locks keeping moving back and trying to lock while I'm using the tools, but that's probably because they're easy to bump into the wrong position when using. Not the best design.These tools are very lightweight which may or may not be a good thing depending on your personal preference. But their light weight probably explains why the pruners can't handle heavier stems.
