Works as advertised!
I used this item on a 21 foot camper that weighs roughly 3,800lbs. Used it on a cement driveway with a slight slope. I used it with the manual crank. I watched the manufacturers video on connecting and using and it worked as advertised. On a cement and asphalt surface it works great and there were no traction issues. I was able to maneuver the camper with ease. I tried the unit at my storage site first and on gravel it would not work. I needed to put down wood running boards for traction.I achieved the precision positioning that I desired in a tight spaced driveway. I recommend this unit if you have a heavy camper or trailer to move on a hard surface.

Good device, but use caution!
The Trailer Valet XL works, BUT beware - it is not as easy or intuitive as the company's videos make it out. Firstly, read the manual! Don't feel you can just use it out of the box based on intuition or because you're naturally "handy". Secondly, make sure the ball is TIGHT into your hitch. Lastly, be very wary of using a drill to power it, especially with a large, heavy trailer on anything but perfectly flat ground (I use it on a 25' Airstream that is somewhere north of 6500 lbs). I saw how easy it looked in the videos but found that in actuality I came close to breaking my wrist from the torque of the drill (a Milwaukee M18 set to low speed). Feathering the drill is critical to avoid injury. I put the drill away and am just using the included manual crank handle, which was not my plan when I bought it. Also make sure to understand how the brake works - I learned that failing to set the brake before letting go of the drill (or crank) can release a fair amount of energy causing it to spin, with a potential for injury. Worth the money, but be prepared - be confident in your physical strength and ability. This is not a light device either.

Tight Spot, No Problem
Quick review: works great, exceeded expectations. Easy for one person to maneuver a trailer into tight spaces. Love it.Detailed Review: I've got a fairly tight spot to park my trailer and when my wife and I upgraded this year it got even tighter. A lot of back and forth trying to get the trailer positioned where people can squeeze by while also not hitting the house and the neighbor's fence.I received my trailer dolly at work, brought it home and was connected up within 5 minutes, no real assembly required.I was skeptical this would work as advertised but I was blown away with how easy the dolly started moving the trailer. Probably took just a few cranks to get the feel of it and then I was off. Got the trailer within a couple of inches of exactly where I wanted it.I'm convinced this dolly is going to deliver hours of post-camping marital bliss since one person can now position the trailer into tight spots.I am extremely happy with this purchase.

Do not use on a heavy trailer
I bought this unit to use on a 7400 lb toy hauler on flat asphalt with no grade. First it is very hard to keep the ball unit tight with trailer it will come loose if trying to turn trailer, if you are backing straight up or down it will probably stay tight but if you are turning forget it. Bad part when it comes loose you bend your trailer hitch. second the tires are way to small and thin I believe if the tires were larger the unit might work well, but way to small of tire ,not wide enough and the tires are way to close together. Third the handle is way to short making it hard to steer. If you have a small boat or single axle trailer the unit probably work well. Trailer Valet needs to work on this unit some more, they need to go out and use one. Last you could get hurt with this unit. Dont buy if you have large trailer.

Worked better than dolly costing twice as much
A friend let me try his $1,600 elec trailer dolly from some Harbor Frieght-like warehouse, but it couldn't move my 27' trailer, 600 lb tongue weight, ~5700 lb dry trailer up our sloped drive. It bogged down and the tires would spin. even though it was rated for 10,000 lbs.The Trailer Valet XL moved the trailer up the slight incline without a problem, even across some broken concrete without a hiccup - see pictures. I had my doubts about how stable and safe it would be but it was rock solid. Be careful when you release the brake, as the hand crank will spin rapidly if you don't have a firm grip on it.The solid tires did leave some marks on the concrete, but I don't care. And I moved it with just the hand crank. because I didn't receive the socket or spanner. The socket is just a 5/8 square bar. I think the socket and spanner must have fallen out because the box was damaged in shipping . Hope Amazon/mfg will send missing parts. This dolly will pay for itself in less than a year since now I don't have to pay to store my trailer.UPDATE: Contacted Manufacturer and they sent missing socket and spanner. Nice folks to deal with.

Not as easy to use as expected.
The tools that came with it are not easy to use. I will buy a different spanner wrench. It doesn't move the trailer as easy as I expected and we are well below the rated weight. It works well when on a flat surface but is difficult to use on even a slight grade like my driveway. It has heavy duty construction. You will need a 1/2 inch power drill to use it.

Works as described, EXCELLENT
Quicky delivery and faster than I thought. This is a GREAT back saver and easy to use.Prodcut works great, just have to get used to the handle a bit.Use of drill is good for moving a long distnace but for simple 10-20 feet not really needed.Pay special care to make sure it is really tightenedOnly drawback is that for a tall hitch, it is a bit short. Coudl use a longer shaft for normal trailer usage.ie is only 14" off ground and I had to raise and lower my trailer hitch to get it down to the proper height from 21" at level.

Works as advertised
Easily moves a large trailer loaded with a tractor weighing about 5000 lbs. Works great on concrete and ok on hard packed dry gravel.ConsYou must bend over to use the hand crank or drill adapter. Difficult position lifting the control handle to release brake and controlling the drill at the same time, wish it had a brake release position that stay off until you needed to stop.
