Exact Fit Replacement
Bonus! I needed a new photocell to replace the old one which was over 15 years old. To my delight, it's exactly the same design. This meant that all I had to do was unscrew the top cap and replace with the new piece. The fixings and wiring didn't need to be touched, so saved me at least half an hour with the usual struggles to remove seizured screws, etc. Worked immediately. Price was similar to local and other online sellers, if not a little cheaper. Hopefully this will last another 15 years 👍🏼

Works well ,good value
I bought it just to replace the top part of the unit which had faded after 30 years. Perfect fit even after all this time. Simple to install. Cheaper than buying top part on its own!

Generic fixture to replace broken one
Only needed to replace the top part on an existing fixture, easily slotted on and external lights now all working. Very easy job to complete. Will see how durable it ends up being hence one star off.

Good product and price.
I've used one of these to turn on and off our outside lights, dusk to dawn for many years. As they age, 11-12 years, they don't switch off during the dullest winter days. Time for a new one. As easy as changing a light bulb, disgarding the new fitting, just using the new sensor.

A really good Quality simple money savin Product.
The daylight Photo cell does exactly what it says on the box. I fitted this to control 2 150w quartz halogen outside yard spotlights on my farm as I used to have them on a timer. Since it has been fitted I have just forgotten its been there, the lights just switch on and off at dusk and dawn with no problems, Now I just have to find some very bright LED bulbs to replace the quartz halogen ones that will last longer. A good product, came well within the stated delivery period and was a simple thing to fit, And saves money by switching on when its dark enough, and off as soon as its light.

Does the job
The second one I have bought for a different job and both work very well. I would say that you will need a 20mm gland as it doesn't come with one but otherwise it's a doddle to install and works straight out of the box. There is a little hysteresis but just a few seconds and only a few minutes between each of them activating on and off so I can't complain. Both are a little faster to come on than the street lights and a little slower to switch off but only by a few minutes so I'm happy with that too.

Good at what it does
Nice and simple to install and a great function to have. The sensor is simple to wire, all you need to do is place in the feed (after you swtich) and the device has a N, L (feed) and LOAD (to your lights) and that is.The sensor is coming on about 6pm and gos off at about 7:30 at the moment, unlike some more expensive versions there is no timer aspact to limt the time onOne reason for the lack of 5 stars is you need a sealing grommit thats not included, as its designed for amoured cable, so be prepared for that depends if you want to cover the wires or not

Um, cable gland?
Cheap, and built to that price. Mainly fine (it switches on at dusk, off at dawn) but there is a huge cable entry hole at the base where the cable enters. The instructions say it will accept a 20mm conduit, which I’m sure it will, but I don’t want a 20mm corrugated pipe extending from the unit to my house! Why no grommet!? As it stands, it’s lethal without an extra item to be bought separately. I have gone for 20mm conduit and gland, but this cost me more and is a little unsightly really....This is the second Amazon item I’ve bought this week where mains electricity is involved in an exterior unit, and the product has been very poor from a safety perspective.
