Yes do it
So far, so good. I've got naturally pale skin but I tan very well. My hair is dark and thick especially on my legs and public region. Personally, I hate it. It's got me down for years! Embarrassed and ashamed of my body. A few years ago I heard about IPL and wanted to get it done but salon prices are ridiculous for someone on my wage. This Christmas I asked my family for Amazon vouchers so I could FINALLY buy one. After having my heard set on a Philip Lumea I discovered this one. At £25 cheaper I thought I'll give it a go as the reviews are fairly good and match the Phillips. It arrived the next day (so much excitment) I open the box and read the instructions. Shave, zap for 20 minutes and done. The feather button to take the edge of more sensitive areas is helpful however I can notice on areas like under arms and public region although the zap is a little bit less It is less effective. When it flashes you feel a slight zap, it's not painful but uncomfortable and you do get a slight feeling of 'ooh this is going to zap I don't want to do it!' Keep going and you get full legs, pubic region and underarms done in 20min. Easy and great. The unit itself is easy to hold and the cable is long enough. It looks smart and not bulky. Comes with neat box to store. It's only been 3 weeks since I've started using it and have noticed DRAMATIC reduction in hair growth after first use. The hair grows much slower- at the moment it isn't coming through finer but definitely slower. I can happily now shave my legs once a week rather than every other day!!Some of you ladies and men out there who are suffering with excessive hair please look into this it's helped me alot.

Seems to be good so far
Seems to be good so far. I've been using it for four weeks and there seems to be a reduction in hair in my armpits. I chose this product because of its ability to assess the colour of the skin which I found crucial as I am of carribean decent and it works usually on level 4 or 5. The downside to this product which wasn't at all mentioned in any review is the awkwardness in using on the face. Due to the the curved nature of the face, I can hardly ever get a contact. If the product can't contact the skin properly it won't work. This is very frustrating and in this respect it really falls down. Some of the other devices on the market have a smaller attachment for facial use but this one doesn't.Let's see what happens after the full 12 weeks - but based upon a months use I am hopeful and feel like it hasn't been a total waste of money. In all fairness it is very quick to use, much quicker than anticipated. The last point to mention is not to expect this to be pain free. Mainly reviews said it was painless or just a bit of heat. Wrong - every zap of light is like an elastic band has been flicked onto the skin. Just be warned.

Disappointed in its color detection and the partial uneven results
Doesn't work as advertise.Although my skin color is in the range as their online guide and printed guide shipped with the device (not even at the margin). The device is not working on 90% of the areas I was hoping to use it on.Even with the area that it works on, It is very unstable, meaning that the same point the device shows red color meaning it can't work for this skin color but if you wait 5 seconds it shows a white and it works!! some times you've to shake the device a little to work. This instability make it very time consuming and tiring process.Apparently, they uses a very cheap and very inaccurate color sensors! it might be just the device sent to me was defective!!For the area that it worked on, I've been using it evenly across all the area and after three weeks of using it the result is very disappointing. Some parts are hair free and others are not. Although I've been applying the laser evenly and covering the whole area and it was using the same intensity. I've decided to go for a professional clinic because I don't wish to have this uneven hair!I really don't see a case where I would recommend this device. I regret buying it.

Honestly... a bit disappointed
My experience has been okay, but not what the advertising promised. I completed 12 weekly treatments on my legs as per the instructions which should mean that I only require top-up treatments every 4 weeks. I've now done 4 of these 4-weekly treatments however only 2 weeks after each one, the hairs are already back to a couple of mm long. By week 4, they're a full 5-6mm all over. They're not growing as fast or visible as before and I could still maaaybe wear bare legs as long as no one was getting too close, however it is *not* a hair free zone. I always got the maximum intensity as I'm like a milk bottle with dark hair so I should have been the ideal user. The machine itself is easy enough to use. 20 minutes is ambitious if you're doing full legs and don't have Barbie proportions, but it's nowhere near the hours that these machines used to take. Sometimes using the continuous flash causes it to overheat and turn itself off which is aggravating. A smaller attachment for bony areas - ankles, knees, and the like - would have been ideal but if you rotate it you can usually find something that makes full contact. If only it would temporarily mark the treated areas so you don't miss/overdo bits.To be honest, I still feel like I need to shave every week, and that's not what I was expecting at all. It will be good enough to keep things fuzz-free over a festival or week-length holiday, but for the money I was expecting more. It would have been worth every penny if it had worked, but things went downhill as soon as I stopped the weekly treatments. If things haven't improved within a few months, I'll be seeing if I can return it under warranty as the results are not as promised.
