Great value, clear instructions, but consider using a drill on the bolts
Just a tip that may help in the installation of this riser. The instructions are very clear however initially I had a difficult time in getting the bolts or wing nuts to move with a screwdriver. Finally, I placed a screwdriver bit on my drill, screwed the wing nuts a few turns and then held the bolt loosely while I drilled the bolt. The wing nuts moved swiftly toward the top and highly tightened the riser and toilet lid. If I had thought to use my drill from the start I could have saved a half hour of frustration. So far, this riser works very well and I'm very pleased with it.

Highly recommend
Only had this installed for about a week. Got it for my disabled son who struggled to get on and off the commode. He needed assistance 98% of the time. Now he's been able to sit VERY EASILY/Gently, and very abled now to stand easily with zero strain. Anyone having issues with using the commode, having difficulty, to sit and stand needs one of these. So far it has helped my adult disabled son do more on his own. Still needs a little assistance, but very little.

More helpful than expected!
This riser prevents your kneecaps from being as high as your belly-button while you’re sitting on the throne. I’m six-foot-two and never thought about seat height until I had a gout attack in my knees. This spacer makes it easier to rise after you’ve done your business. It was easy to install except that the original seat mounting holes on your wood or plastic seat will need to be slightly enlarged to fit the heavy-duty mounting bolts that come with this kit. I used a taper-reamer to enlarge mine, but a drill would also have worked. The larger bolts are necessary to keep the spacer and the toilet seat aligned, but once tightened, the seat is highly stable. This seems to be a well-designed and well-made product. I’ve just ordered a second one for my master bathroom.

Perfect for hip replacement recovery.
I just had a hip replacement and needed to raise my toilet up for recovery. This riser is perfect for my needs. Installed in minutes, looks nice, and even uses my existing soft-close seat. The ideal solution.

Poor quality
Not a good quality item, poorly designed. Doesn’t fit properly, it’s a hard plastic, even with the bolts tightened it slides around which is not safe for an older person. Also not sanitary, once mounted you can’t clean in between the riser and your own toilet seat . Definitely would not recommend!

Effective, but disgusting.
The riser works as advertised… it raises the height of the toilet seat. It has long bolts and installs easily, which is a plus. However, there’s a 1/8 inch gap between the plastic riser and the bowl rim, so regardless of gender and best efforts to prevent it, you will have spray in the gap that will leak and drip onto the floor. I had to disassemble it every few days for a thorough cleaning in, on, and around the toilet. Definitely do not use if you have a carpeted bathroom.

Good Product but be careful when installing
I received 2 of these risers and have installed them in anticipation of future surgery recovery. The product itself is straightforward. It is a solid polyethylene waxy-like material that is well molded and fits my Kohler elongated toilets perfectly. The bottom side of the unit has thin pads to cushion it against the top rim of the bowl and to minimize slipping. The hardware was good quality - 2 bolts which are long enough to reach thru any toilet mount and 2 wing nuts. Instructions are minimal so I would like to offer some advice from experience:1. The mounting area of the unit where the bolt holes are located seems contoured up and if you tighten the bolts securely, the front of the unit lifts a tiny bit from the front of the bowl. If the bolts are tight, this would add some amount of strain to the mounting area and in extreme cases might cause the toilet to crack. So, I added 2 flat washers between the unit and the bowl rim to make sure the strain of a seated person did not strain the mount.2. I also added 2 nylon washers (other materials like hard rubber could be used) between the wing nuts and the bottom of the toilet mount area. Just to protect the toilet from any cracks. The supplied hardware uses a flat blade screwdriver and most of the toilet seat hardware use phillips head so you will need large drivers of both type. Keep the flat blade handy for a few days to tighten the screws as you use it and until they set in.Clean and save your original hardware so you can use it again if this is a temporary situation. Overall, a very suitable product and easy enough for anyone to install with a little patience.
