Bought this key and had it programmed by a Saab dealership. They were surprised that it worked and said that I picked the right key. It saved me a lot of money ordering this key.

The media could not be loaded. Alright so I wanted to make sure I came on here and wrote a review once I confirmed it was good. First off I am an ASE certified master tech over 16 years of experience. I'm a Saab enthusiast. This key worked 100% as it should with zero complications in the programing process. That being said, if you do not have a GM dealer that will still do Saabs or a certified lock Smith this will not work. I programed mine with a tech 2 factory GM scan tool with a Saab card installed. It also requires tis2000 software to gain security access on the tech 2. The software tis2000 only operates on Windows XP so you either need an old laptop or a new one with a virtual machine set up on it. You also need a serial port or serial port adapter for this to function as well. If you have all of those things once you follow the process the key programs instantly without hesitation and is of decent quality. The key blank will have to be laser cut at a local locksmith. All in all I am very pleased. Also if you no longer have a key at all for the Saab you will not be able to program this one. You need one existing key already programmed and still working for this process to work. If you lost all keys you will need a cim module (located behind the steering wheel) and key paired to that module. As long as you have an existing key and the above provisions this will work effortlessly with a 433mhz car. Make sure you have the correct frequency. These keys are 433mhz which most US Saabs are. Hopefully this will help the next Saab guy like me who had cheap shit Chinese ones before that would not program.

Didn't work

Ordered 2 fobs. Both had the key shaft stuck in. Even qith excessive force they wont come out. Eventually one came with the internal housing that is holding it stuck on it. Basically the housing broke off the shell, yet the key was still stuck in the inner housing with a metal clip that is badly designed to not release the key with any kind of force. I saw previous revies about the key shaft falling out. So i guess they revised the design where it's never coming off unkess you break it. Too bad becaue I was hoping this would work.

Programmed great first time

mechanic programmed it for $40, so total $80 instead of $350.

Losing your one & only Saab FOB will cost you big time! Having a working spare is a life & wallet saver. This one, although not genuine, will work with proper programming. Like others state, requires GM Tech 2 with Saab security software & at least one functioning original FOB.One criticism, the key besides needing laser cutting, is ridiculously reluctant to remove from FOB body. In fact, the 'innards' came out with it the 1st time. If you compare it to your original, you'll see there's a notch on the key itself that needs filing down.Other than the lack of the Saab medallion, that's it.Order & it's at your doorstep the next day & at 1/2 the cost of the genuine item!

Wow! I initially marked this as 1 star. But it worked flawlessly after performing the key add procedure PROPERLY!I first had to add the original key AGAIN before adding this one that I just bought!I was confused. I would make a video again to show the process if I end up buying it here again. Otherwise, check out youtube videos!
