Cool gadget but has a proprietary battery.
Was excited to get this but have found myself a little disappointed. There are a few different versions of this measurement tool. One has a wrist strap (the one i have) and there are others that actually have a pen, pencil or stylus for tablet attached to it. The one i have is hard to hold if you have large hands because it is small. There is a small plastic ring at the tip where the laser is that actually rotates as you lightly run the ring over your object to measure. The app that you download shows step by step instructions on pairing and using. Of course they show a version of the pen i didn't have any the accessories i would have liked. there is an attachment that has little wheels that make measuring much more accurate and easy. This accessory isn't even available on their website (at time of review) Speaking of accuracy, you have to be very precise and pay attention that you are moving the gizmo very straight or you will add more to your final numbers of measure. The big and i mean big issue with this is that it uses a proprietary battery. You cannot get this battery anyplace else but Instrumenments or Amazon (amazon is out of stock at time of this review). I have no idea how long this battery lasts but find it a bit of a pain that i only have 2 choices of places to purchase a battery from. I think more people would be happier with this if it used an AAA battery that when on a job or in the middle of working with it can easily get a replacement battery. The app you use to register the measurements is simple, choose your measurement scale and that's pretty much it. If you go to their website they have lots of images on the apps interface and tons of examples of ways you can use the measurer. There is also 3d cad capabilities, i have no clue on that stuff but i'm sure there are people out there that can use this feature. But there seems to be some kind of subscription service for cloud services and to save certain files. And that has a monthly fee that is additional. If you want to use this for simple measurements and get a better accuracy for odd shapes, this is perfect. I use it for my crafts and artwork and its great on getting more specific measurements. I'm just disappointed that accessories are very expensive, you cannot add a pen or pencil later on you have had to buy it this way originally and the proprietary battery thing is just a terrible idea.

Early adopter review.
I helped fund this device through Indiegogo. I expected a great deal from this but have been disappointed multiple times when it came to the 3d measurement side of the tool (which is what I bought it for). While the device is quite accurate when used properly it does take some getting used to. The 01go is smaller and more compact than that of its counterparts that have a pen/pencil/stylus end. This can make measuring a little trickier. I have no real complaints about the tool itself as it works well. The real issue comes in when you need to access your measurements. The company downloads your 3D measurements to a cloud and provides no other way way to access them except through a subscription. There is also no other option to store your measurements other than the cloud. The .STEP files that are made cannot be accessed in any other fashion. Your work is held hostage for additional monies above and beyond the cost of the Instrumment. This is patently ridiculous business model that makes accessing anything beyond 2Dimensional measurements impossible without spending even more money. It becomes cost prohibitive to the point it makes more sense to purchase a quality 3d Scanner to measure 3d Objects as it will be paid for in the short term while the costs will continue to mount up forever with the current business model. While the costs can be limited by buying a long term subscription after a 4-6 year period in costs plus the cost of the tool you could get an excellent 3d scanner.I'm a 3D Printing Hobbyist. I mainly make things for myself and my friends. I only need access to a few measurements every couple months at most so it makes little sense if any to purchase a subscription.Pros:accurate measurementsquick to useaccess 2d measurements anywhereinnovative and useful deviceCons:3d measurements and files are all but useless without a cloud subscriptionFiles are stored in a cloud database onlyAdditional cost to access files you are forced to store in the cloud.no way to download your own files without cloud access.I hope this review is helpful in making a decision for this tool. I will definitely update this if anything changes as this is an early adoption review and the product is still being phased into the market and things may change.

Random number tool, very fun to use
It only has a small wheel and it’s not giving me accurate measurements, while it should do.
