Picked up this pack of tapered cork plugs for a bottle rocket experiment with my little lad — and what a session we had! Loads of sizes in the pack meant we could test out all sorts of bottles, from your classic round pop bottles to those more square-ish shaped ones. It turned into a proper science investigation - testing pressure, fit, and lift-off results based on shape.Once we found the right corks, we got some cracking launches. The round bottles flew a bit more cleanly, but the square ones gave us a good laugh as they wobbled their way skyward like they’d just eaten a dodgy samosa.All in all, a fun, hands-on way to teach physics and get me son thinking like a mini engineer. Loads of corks left for more launches or rainy-day crafts. Not bad at all for a few quid!

Cork tops for bottles

I bought these for a craft activity making bottle rockets. I wasn't sure on the size I needed, hence getting a mixture. There was enough in the packet to fit 6 bottles that we used in my class. Worked well enough when used correctly. One leaked a little but I think that was me not pushing it in well enough. There are some tiny ones which seem pointless but the children enjoyed playing with them! *children are 10 so know not to swallow*
