My son loves his scooter. I don't usually write product reviews, but I wanted to share my experience with Hiboy support. My son recently had an issue with his scooter, after he was being a stupid teenager and drove it through a creek. He came home all upset because the scooter wasn't working. The display wouldn't turn on and the brake light flashed repeatedly. In an attempt to repair his scooter, I contacted Hiboy to try to understand the problem, maybe they could tell me what the flashing brake light indicated. I wasn't expecting Hiboy to send me replacement parts, but Claire in Hiboy support sent me a replacement controller and display, along with videos describing how to replace them. After replacing the parts, I am happy to report that the scooter works like new. My 14 year old son has transportation again. Hopefully he will be smarter in using it this time. But hats off to Hiboy for going the extra mile. That is the kind of support that gets my return business.

The Hiboy Electric Scooter was purchased for me to commute from my apartment to the location where I park my company Ford Explorer. This is about 3 miles each way. The scooter is very sturdy and it breaks down for storage exactly as advertised. I just moved to Naples, Florida and my daily ride is through the apartment complex, using the established bike lanes, and then some sidewalks. The scooter accelerates quickly up to the advertised 22 mph. I saw many less expensive scooters, but all had multiple bad reviews. I considered some other scooters that were more expensive, that went faster, and had better suspension, but this one was perfect for me. This scooter perfectly folds up and then I pick it up and place it in the back of the Explorer. I am 5'10" and 200 lbs. I am 65 years old. My commute is enjoyable. The only downside that has to be considered is water. The scooter is water resistant but not water proof. You have to be certain that the water cover for the charging port is in place after you remover the charging cable. Other than that small concern, this is a great purchase. Just an update after owning and using my scooter for 18 months. I would still recommend this purchase and the only thing that I have changed was that I swapped out the tires for solid core ones. I had several flat tires from road hazards and I felt that I would be money and time ahead by replacing them. Six months later, I do not regret that decision.

Overall this scooter is good. Not quite as good as the Ninebot F3, but still one of the best midrange electric scooters. Main drawback is the pneumatic tires. Changing tubes is a serious pain! Especially the rear tire. The way support shows you how to do it in the video requires disassembling the motor to take the wheel off. You can in fact change the tube without removing the motor but it's still not easy. You need tools that aren't included with the scooter to do it. I really wish this thing didn't have pneumatic tires. Flats happen too often. A lot of scooters have solid tires nowadays and can't get flats from punctures. Do yourself a BIG favor and put 4oz of Slime Tube Sealant in each tire as soon as you get the scooter. You'll save yourself SO MUCH hassle! Real world range is definitely not 40+ miles, even at slow speed. More like 20 miles. Still way better than most electric scooters, but you really have to be careful not to go beyond your round trip range. And out for the battery indicator not being accurate. Once it drops below 50% it can drop like a knife to less than 20% if you go fast.

UPDATE 12/18/23: If I could give 0 stars I would. I Just got a flat tire in the rear and went to look up some videos and instructions on how to replace the tube and found nothing for the Max Pro. They give you replacement tubes so I assumed it was a straightforward process to fix, right? NOPE, not at all, changing this tire was fine until it came to getting the old stem out, which after an hour of work, finally came out but then the real nightmare began, getting the new stem back through the frame, was next to impossible. the engineering of this whole scooter is such that it is not meant to be worked on easily. I will NEVER buy a Hiboy scooter again. Buyer beware. UPDATE 12/9/2023: After owning this for a few months, I am slightly disappointed in a few things. First, I dislike how it limits the speed to 22mph. For instance, if I am going down a hill and there is potential for more speed, this will slow me down and limit my speed. Then there are the electrical issues that make riding it more annoying than fun. It will constantly cycle on and off when unplugged from the charger and when you come to a stop when riding it. Everything is mostly great when in motion, but as soon as it stops, it will power off and on and turn lights off on you or on you. It also has a very subpar app that is not very useful. It does not keep track of total mileage or have any cool features you would expect to find in a scooter at this price range. It was my first scooter purchase, and I wish I had researched more before dropping this kind of money. This is a good, sturdy, and fast scooter. It can easily maintain 22mph on flat ground but at the cost of battery life. What I DO NOT like is the app for it. First, it does not maintain or keep track of total overall mileage. So, each time you start it, it goes back to 0. This is NOT a good feature. The app has a map you can click on, but whenever I click on it, I am taken to Beijing, and it is all in Chinese or whatever language is used there. The app is awful and not worth using. I want to know how many miles I have ridden over its life. I do not want it to reset each time. This is a good scooter with bad software. It needs some good software engineers to overhaul the app, which is what needs to happen.

I purchased this scooter for short 5 min local trips. It’s definitely rock solid and well built. Assembling it was super easy and took less than 1/2 an hour. Now here is the best part - The charger that came with the scooter was not the one for my model, and did not fit the charging port on the unit. I sent an e-mail with pictures about the issue to Hilboy and received an answer with resolution within 24 hours! As we all know, you can have a good product, but without good customer support it’s worthless. Hilboy clearly has stellar customer support - and a personal thanks to Cindy at Hilboy who helped me with the issue. Love the scooter and the company! UPDATED Review 12/24/25 - I fianlly received the correct charger for the scooter. Although, it took 2 weeks because it came from China! Nevertheless, even with the long wait Hiboy has great customer support. They sent me updates and also a tracking number when it was available. Great scooter from Hiboy. It has great range and I weight 220lb and the scooter was able to work great. The pickup speed was great and I didn't feel unsafe at all. It fairly bulky but it fits in the back of sedan and any suv. Easy to use with just 1 Botton and covers with the charger and the texture of the foot surface. I enjoyed using the scooter and would recommend for folks who want it easy to use and long range scooter. It also very smooth with it's dual shock absorption.
