Old school CD/HDD connection
Used for OG Xbox. A bit shorter than the original cable but works 100% for my configuration. Something to be aware of if same use-case as it won't look as clean or bend the same way.

needed for original xbox hdd upgrade
without a doubt it works and works well. at least for me. its necessary to upgrade the original cable (in an og xbox) because the one it shipped with was only a 40 pin, making it not compatible with sata drives. (its not compatible anyway, without getting an ide to sata adapter, but even if you have that, it wont work without the 80pin cable. this one works.

Great for Modding OGxbox with new HDD/SDD
If you plan on using a new HDD/SDD get this. It will allow you to use the faster IDE speeds like UDMA4 and up.There is a video on YT by Borderline OCD that shows the best way to fold the cable to fit in properly.

Exactly what you need for a modded Xbox
Xbox wouldn’t boot after cloning the HDD to a new SATA SSD using a Startech SATA to IDE adapter. Swapped out the stock 40-wire cable for this 80-wire one, works great now.Note that you basically NEED the 24” length version, even though it’s technically out of spec (max length for Ultra ATA is 18”). The XBOX is laid out differently than a consumer PC as far as drive spacing and cable routing. With the 24” you can have the DVD and the new HDD sitting in the usual spots and still put the lid back on without cutting plastic etc. With an 18” there are going to be serious difficulties.Satisfied, and bought a couple extra to have on hand. Who knows how long these are going to continue to be made.
