Equity 33100 Electric Silent Analog Alarm Clock with Lighted Dial

I bought this clock because all the other clocks I have are digital or battery operated. They either, need to be reset or they aren't affected by a power hiccup. This is a plug-in clock that will stop running for the duration that the electricity is off. If there is a ten minute or a three hour down time, it will lose that much time. We don't have that many electrical hiccups, but now I can know. It doesn't have a backup battery, but it has an alarm and a beautiful blue backlight that might be a little bright as a bedroom night light, so I put it in the bathroom, not the bedroom. The back light can be dimmed. It is pretty simple to operate. Just what I wanted.

Good value and it works fine. It is backlit by a blue light that is brighter than I like and it's not adjustable. I can live with that. for the price. The clock runs on 115V to 240V.

At first it was five stars. Nice size clock the blue light is easily dimmable and doesn't bother me when trying to get to sleep. After about a week I started hearing this noise in my home. A random double beep like a smoke alarm on low battery. I'm monitored it for about another week along with some of my friends. We couldn't find the source of the noise. So the next thing I did was start eliminating any new electronics. Left my new TV unplugged. Still heard the beeps. Left my new egg cooker unplugged. Still heard the beeps. Unplug the clock. No beeps for over 24 hours. Fiddled with the alarm switch which was already in the off position. Made sure it was in the off position with a piece of tape on it. Still got the beeps. Left it unplugged, no beeps. Very strange. Will be returning. Willing to try an exchange.

I wanted a basic electric clock that didn't come with a lot of instructions and extras on it. This was just what I wanted. The alarm is nice and loud, but do note it is not a 24 hour clock so you need to set your alarm within the 12 hours. I read on another review that they liked their clock but the light on the face is very bright. This is true, but there is a dimmer dial on the bottom so you can adjust it for less light. I'm happy with my purchase.

It's just an old-fashioned electric clock that stops when the power goes off, and starts when power comes back on. That's exactly what we ordered it for! We got it to measure the duration of power outages, by seeing how much time was 'lost' when then power comes back on. <grin>It works just fine.

It is a nice clock but I returned it because the light is on all the time and even though it is dim-able and I wanted one that could be turned off.

Very nice and easy to used. Just plug it up set it and forget it.

I was surprised by the lack of electric alarm clocks available lately. Most are battery or usb driven now. While this seems to be a no frills little clock, it does the job, is not intrusive and has a dimmable face. I recommend this budget alarm clocks. Works great!
