Used for chemistry class. Has proper amount of holes in molecule beads to connect bonds. Small enough to carry comfortably and properly represent molecules. Some classmates used larger bead sets but wound up with a big box to carry around. You can decide which you would prefer but this was adequate for me and the case was handy.

I bought this for my son who is taking Organic Chemistry. He was home for fall break, drawing a molecule in the air he had just been working in lab. It just dawned on me that I used models in Org Chem class . So I grabbed my phone and these were at our door in 2 days. He was able to familiarize himself with them before he went back to campus. He thinks the set is great. The pieces are a nice size for him to handle (not tiny pieces to keep up with). The bonds are bendable but also hold their shape nicely. Different colored elements with clear labels on the box. The tidy box is well made and will easily last well beyond a year. It's a good investment for an Org Chem student to be able to bring the changing bonds formations off the flat paper and into his 3 dimensional hand for his eyes to see and brain to better lasting comprehend.

Got this set to use in organic chemistry 1 and 2. I really feel like this kit was a life saver especially compared to the tiny kits my classmates got through the school book store. I had so many more pieces to work with so I could build a lot more molecules to compare which really helped with chirality especially when we got into chiral cyclic molecules and more complex chirality like with double bonds. It did feel a bit bulky to lug around compared to those other small kits but it seemed a fair trade off to me. The case closes securely and the compartments hold everything in place unlike some others I've seen where the compartments aren't fully closed with the lid on so stuff gets mixed around. The tiny "fullerene" components were not tight enough so they fell apart every time I used them but I never needed them so it was fine. If you need that part for your class I would get a different kit.

My students beg to use this set for their "preferred activity time" and our lesson content has so much more meaning to them now. They are having fun and have understood our content so much more deeply. Each piece has the correct number of holes, and, so far, the "molecules" have held together very firmly. The container compartments are labeled with the atomic symbols which also have been helpful for my students. I am completely pleased with this purchase.
