I love this. I tested it on my hand before I put it on the dog. I had to go up to 45. What I like about it, is that it beeps when I say no and then if I press it again he gets a small zap. It gets his attention. After our third time walking, he is doing much better. And he listens and corrects himself at the beep/No. I would recommend this product. I weigh 105. Harley weighs 90 and is 10 months old and all muscle. So I need him to stop when I say stop, or I have to let go of the leash. This shock collar has given us good walks and runs.

the sound and vibrate didn't seem to work so i went to shock. i set it on 10, nothing, went up nothing, 30 she seemed to react so left it there but no response from her the next time. this continued until i got to 50. she screamed. i put it on myself and found it was not working all the time so at 30 she got shocked and that would have been enough. i didn't know it wasn't working all the time. be very careful if you buy this product as it is not consistent and you could do what i did and turn it up way too high and hurt your dog. i am sending it back today because now nothing is working on it and the battery is fully charged.

I don't write reviews very often, but I'm not being given the option of returning this item because I've had it for more than 3 months. The concept is good and very effective. The two or three times I was able to get this collar to work, our dog responded perfectly. The problem is it didn't work most of the time and now it doesn't work at all. It all looks and feels cheap. Evidently it is, because 3 months later I got ziltch and no option from Amazon to return it. Buyer beware.

You get what you pay for. Both remote and receiver collar are made out of very cheap plastic. The buttons on the remote beep obnoxiously when pressed, which confused my dog. The remote "goes to sleep" after three minutes and needs to be restarted before it's usable, so no chance of immediate corrections when your dog jumps on the counter or has some other unwanted behavior. The collar and remote also need to re-sync about every hour or else they don't work. Completely useless for training.

Don't know what all the good reviews are about... we have had a lot of trouble with this collar. When it works our dog responds well, but it's iffy if it will work even when fully charged. The shock especially doesn't always work.We were hoping to get our dog used to the beep and respond instead of having to shock or vibrate... but every button on the remote beeps loudly when you push it. You have to re adjust the strength of the vibrate and shock each time you charge it... and it beeps each time you push the button. (So to set it at 20- it beeps 20 times for the vribrate and then 20 more for the shock) also, Switching modes it beeps... it's makes our dog nervous and anxious. The worst part is that sometimes the vibrate and shock don't even respond to the remote. We have a large (90lb) dog and setting the shock to 50 makes him yipe... around 30 is plenty high for him. it goes up to 100- don't know why you would need it that high. We were REALLY disapointed in this collar and remote.

Every button you press makes a beeping noise. My dog quickly learned that the beep was a warning. so now I can't adjust any of the settings without my dog thinking I'm upset. Needs a silent mode. Other than that, everything seems to work as advertised. Vibrate was enough for my dog to take a hint.

My German Shepherd has calmed down considerably since we started using this for training her. We have only had to use it on sound and vibration so far and have used it for over a month. Very effective and has great range.

Unit works ok, but the hand held remote is very loud and annoying. It's also a pain to turn the thing back on after it goes into standby or whatever it does. Would not recommend.
