Good hobbyist lights - terrible customer service
UPDATED: Both bulbs detonated within 12 hours of each other (and only after around 3 hours use), blowing the 3A fuse in the plugs with them. (Kudos for not fitting 13A fuses, I guess!)Neither light stand was in use when they popped, but were connected to mains power. One exploded its power supply while I was drinking my first coffee of the morning, the other must have blown during the night!I contacted EMART direct, provided a detailed video of the issue on request and was promised a replacement ASAP...Well, that hasn't happened and no response to an email to them asking for confirmation of the replacements being sent.If you are in the UK, these may not be the ideal choice if something goes amiss.Nothing to dislike about the EMART Softbox Photography Lighting Kit, looking at them as a hobby photographer, rather than serious one... (Being blunt, they wouldn't survive the rigours of a professional studio, the materials are lightweight)The stands are made of an aluminium alloy with plastic fittings - so take care when tightening up the clamps, tight enough to hold is tight enough, otherwise the plastic fittings WILL snap at some point. An observation: The top of the light stand has a plastic knob protecting the 1/4" screw thread, this needs to be removed to permit the light box to 'sit' correctly in the fitting. The light boxes are constructed from a fabric, coated internally with a pebbled silver material. They are of an umbrella type construction, with the tensioner pushed to fit securely over the E27 socket. A white fabric diffuser (Nylon?) is provided, with hook & loop fastenings on each side. The black fabric frame needs to be folded inward, covering the seams, for the fasteners to mate with those on the light box.The LED bulb also has the Infra-red sensor for the remote control, so to control the lights the remote has to pointed inward from the front of the boxes, the diffuser doesn't appear to noticably interfere with the remote signal. In my package the 85w LED bulbs in the description were replaced with 100w LED bulbs, brighter and larger than the 85w version. A white remote control (batteries not included) was provided with each lamp, although only one is required to operate both. The mains cable from the light box is reasonably generous, but if one doesn't have an outlet conveniently to hand, mains extension cables, or extending the exisiting cable, provides as solution. When assembled and ready for use the lighting unit is stable and rigid. It should be noted that the light boxes can only be used in 'portrait' orientation as the clamp does not provide 2 mounting options.Nitpicking observation: The carry bag is not rigid, nor designed to accommodate the LED bulbs, probably being designed in the days of CFL lighting. The kit does not fill the bag, it could take 4 units and still have some space... But it is fine for transporting or storing the units, it is my recommendation that the original boxes for the LED lights be retained for storage. With the caveats mentioned in the beginning, yes, the EMART Softbox Photography Lighting Kit earns its 5 stars, serving the purpose it was purchased for - light hobby use!

Amazing value (so far)
When I was a professional stills photographer for 15 years, I used a set of studio flash for lots of jobs and knew how to set up the soft boxes. These seem to be amazing value as they fit together well and the remote control both changes the power and colour temperature- amazing! Have set one of them up and was really impressed. Yet to use on filming, but as long as they carry on fitting together properly I would expect them to give brilliant results. If not, I will update this review. And I had only expected one unit, but there are two!

The light has exploded
One bulb exploded after one month. The bulbs are unique and only compatible with the included remote control, so replacing them may not be easy. I do not recommend buying these lights. They are also not bright, as other people have mentioned.

DO NOT BUY
Do not buy. As many others have said the bulbs blow extremely quickly (within hours) so product is practically useless.
