I wondered how it would look with such a high frame rate. I’d say this camera would be best for Timelapse or slow motion videography. It’s quite detailed and has a lot of potential. I’ve got LED strip lights as a main source of light and I could see the flickering of the lights through the camera but not with my own eyes which is quite fascinating. This is typically what you want to look for especially when you’re testing a camera if you don’t want external software to do the work. It’s nice you can lock in place the manual settings of the camera by tightening or loosening the screws then turning them to the left or right. The looser the screw the easier it will be to rotate the corresponding ring. You can zoom in quite closely without loosing the detail in the pixels which is quite impressive. The adapter cable is quite unique to me as I hadn’t seen an optical cable adapted to usb in a long time. I’m quite amazed and look forward to trying different applications to further test the capabilities in different environments. It will take some time to do so which I wanted to share my opinion now as it will be a long time before I’m physically able to test the attributes. Thanks so very much!

15 year old camera better than this one.Do not buy it

Wow. This camera it pretty damn cool. It seems like the zoom is higher than stated. You will need to mount this on a tripod or something to make it usable. For its size, this thing packs a manual focus lens that surprised the heck out of me. This could be used for a ton of purposes. Document scanning, security, AI projects, conference rooms, quality assurance inspections, etc. It does require good lighting to work well. When the lighting was dimmer, I got a lot of screen flicker. Blues were vivid, reds were a little big less vivid, but still good.This was plug and play. It was recognized as soon as I plugged it into the USB jack on windows 11. To focus or zoom, slightly twist the screws on the lens, make your adjustments, then tighten the screws to keep the settings in that location.You could almost use this like a scope for assembling circuit boards and such. Seriously impressed.

Footage is very grainy.

Most USB cams have a fixed focus so you can see objects in both the foreground and background clearly. But this can sometimes not be what you are looking for - maybe you want to concentrate on a particular area regardless of the background. This camera and its lens allow you to focus from 5 to 50 mm (1/4" to about 2"). This is great for machine vision applications where the background can confuse image identification. I also use it for monitoring 3d printers. Recommended.

A little camera but with many features. Be sure to check them all out. Plugs right in and works. Very nice. Also the zoom feature is great as that's not too common. Very versatile, many uses for it.A great item and a good deal for sure. :)

Plugged it into the computer USB port and the camera worked right away on a PC. I have not gotten it to work on a Mac yet. Not sure why.The picture is very good. Good color in the proper lighting. The lens even has an iris control ring, which is unusual on a lens/camera of this size. (The camera also has an auto-gain function.) Very small body, at about 2"x2"x2" plus the lens. The quality is probably overkill for a security camera, but is great for monitoring nature or other more interesting needs.The lens needs some improvements. Zoom and focus are very stiff. They loosened up a little with use, but are still stiff and hard to use. The zoom range is great. However you will have to zoom in or out a hair to get the subject in focus at certain places in the zoom range. That's fine for most uses where the video framing will not change often or at all.Mounting options are minimal. Just one 1/4" threaded hole on the bottom. They include some wall anchors and screws, but there is nothing to mount where these would be used. Maybe I'm missing some sort of wall mount.This is actually an ELP brand camera. The ELP logo has been removed from the product photos but is on the camera case. They make a large variety of cameras and have a lot of experience, so you can be sure this camera is well designed.I'd like to see some software to adjust color and black levels for this camera to tweak it to my taste, but I haven't found any yet.The entire kit contains the camera, lens, lens cap, a short instruction booklet, and some (not needed) wall anchors, in a small unlabeled box.
