Live With Ginger Baker

what I dreamed about
Agree with previous reviewers that this pressing was especially good. It is a three sided double, but every song/solo is a gem. The first side starts out a little busy then kicks in to nice grooves of funk. Ginger's solo is perhaps his peak work. Considering price is just a few dollars more than a typical single record, buy it when you can.

Really good delicious stuff here
I recently saw a documentary about Ginger Baker and I also knew he was in Lagos in the early 1970's. I knew this because of Paul McCartney playing in EMI studios in Lagos recording Band on the Run. But I never realized that Ginger Baker was hanging with Fela Kuhti. However, once I learned of this I saw this record and took the plunge. For those that don't know, the late Kuhti is a terrific African musician that really brought consciousness of mixing politics with funk soul and African rhythms to a diverse audience. This record really brings a feeling to a live recording as the solid mixture of Ginger Baker with Fela is just plain great. You won't hear lots and lots of Ginger Baker solos, but the whole stew is well worth listening to over and over. The music is infectious and great and this is an enjoyable listen. Well worth the purchase!

Two Greats On One CD
For Ginger Baker fans and Fela Kuti fans alike, this is a must. From 1970, Probably not too long after Blind Faith ending. We get to hear Fela Kuti's grooves with the added punch of Ginger sitiing in on drums with Tony Allen. Ginger is on 3 of the 5 tracks. Ginger Baker has always been somewhat African based in his percussion style from early on (see "Beware Mr. Baker") and here he fits in seemlessly, to my ears anyway. And here I like the mix of Fela's tunes, with one written just for Ginger. This CD is offered at a good price and is well worth the listen.

"Lost & Found"
Ginger Baker together with Fela Kuta is magnetic. Ginger: formally of the 'British Group CREAM' is spotlighted on drums( Let's Start What We Have Come Into The Room To Do) accompanied by Driving Base, intense Rhythmic Horns and Vocals. The LP helped introduced the African dance rhythm to the top of the 70-80's disco sound. One of my friends borrowed this LP from me and never returned it. I was told by a number of music stores it was no longer available. Thanks to Amazon.com I found it.

Great rhythm
This is an album by the African performer/activist Fela Ransome-Kuti and features Ginger Baker, the famous drummer best known for his work with 60's supergroup Cream. A nice live performance for anyone who is a fan of Ginger or anyone who likes funk/jazz or African rhythm style music. Good sound quality for an old live recording that I personally like with a great rhythm and bass section. 5 stars.

Get this for the Fela fan in your life!
I got this as a gift for my dad, who is a fan of Fela. He was surprised to receive this since he hadn't heard it before. He spent the entire day listening to it. Worthwhile buy for any Fela fan.

Fantastic impulse buy looking for Mr Bakers stuff
This is fantastic. Vinyl has an overall nice sound. Drumming on it is Ginger in his element with a tight as hell outfit. Fela should have been as big as James brown. Buy this vinyl junkies.
