Fun read for a lazy, inside weekend!

I enjoyed it so much, I signed on to do the "Escape From Alcatraz" swim. It was quite the experience. I wonder if they still have it. The story, the book, and the swim were all motivating and inspiring.

Having recently toured Alcatraz, an escape from the Rock seemed impossible. Yet, the guided tour talksabout it and remnants of the preparation are found on the cells of the escapees. Book is well researched detailing the ingenuity and preparation of the three escapees. Recommend for all those who tour Alcatraz.

I bought these for the kids escape-room party goody bags. I read through it first to make sure it was okay for kids; then had my daughter read it, she absolutely loved it. It goes wellWith the Escape Room theme and is far better than some of the plastic junk out there.

Good book for kids and even the grandparents picked it up and gave it a read. We bought this before a trip to San Francisco including a tour of Alcatraz. The kids felt they gained a lot by reading this first and having some background on the prison and some of the famous prisoners. My 12 year old even woke up early one day and went right to this book for 1.5 hrs instead of asking to play Fortnite.
