Shower Flow Control Valve - 1/2" NPT Thread Stainless Steel 304 Shut Off Mini Ball Valve, Female x Male Shower Head Water Valve

This shower flow control valve is simple to install and works exactly as intended. It threads onto the shower arm easily and creates a secure, leak-free connection. The lever moves smoothly, allowing me to adjust the water flow from a full stream down to a trickle without changing the temperature setting. It has been especially useful for saving water while lathering up or shampooing. I can quickly reduce the flow, then return to full pressure with just a flick of the lever. I have a leaky shower valve behind a tile wall. I am a competent plumber and I have replaced the valve cartridge numerous times with no success. I have replaced the brass seat in the back of the shower valve as well. There must be an imperfection in the pot metal the valve housing was constructed with. By simply installing this shower flow valve at the shower head and turning it off when I am done, I am saving water and reduced the repair cost by about $1,000. It solved the problem instantly. The original shower valve is still failing but the water does not get past this shower arm flow valve when in the off position.

I needed a quick fix for a leaky shower valve; an item that's expensive to replace and I have already replaced once. I specifically looked for a ball valve as my well water has a good deal of sediment in it. Some of the other, more compact shower head valves are typically not ball valves that I would not trust to stay unclogged. The thru diameter of this valve is significantly smaller than the pipe ID, but about the same size as the shower head hose so not a problem here. A welcome bonus is the ability to restrict flow as desired, something dearly missed with single valve showers. Bought this valve as a replacement for a similar product that had significant leakage through the valve when closed. This item has no such problem, zero leakage observed. The female side of the fitting required 6 or 7 turns of Teflon tape to get sealed, but no big deal.

I got this valve because my shower developed small leak and wanted to save water by shutting off the flow. That said valve does shut off the water well but the flow seems to have dropped slightly , I do have a low flow shower head and the valve has bought me some time to repair hot/cold mixer valve.

Very good fit. does not cut down the flow of water at all as far as I'm concerned large openings on both ends. Easy to adjust the flow control

We had a shower head that was leaking and couldn’t find a replacement cartridge so we use this to turn the water on and off between showers. Works great. Very sturdy metal.
