The Modern New Testament from Aramaic Paperback – 31 Mar. 2004

Great book. arrived on time.

For the most part it appears to be a typical English new testament translation. It seems to be confused in some places eg. 2 Cor.5:3. It adds nothing of great import. It certainly doesn't give me the impression that I'm reading what the apostles recorded in Aramaic. Luke probably wrote straight into Greek. Paul would have done the same when addressing mainly Greek speaking people. It only emphasises how reliable our English translations from the Greek are.I don't think that there is much to be gained from it.

The man is far from christian, in fact Lamsa is known as an occultist who fooled people into buying his works as if they were christian a bit of research on the man however turns up lots of info and warnings, for exampleI used the Lamsa Bible myself, when I was into the occult, over two decades ago. But I still remember the strange things it says to this day. The Lamsa Bible is supposedly a translation of the Aramaic Peshitta Bible, authored by occultist George Lamsa. He was a very sly man. He used as his base text the King James Bible, and changed passages to fit what he wanted them to say, then claimed he was only "translating the Aramaic."I recently found out about this conman via a link to another conman trying to pass himself off as a man of God, hearing from God.. who was promoting lamsa.The other conman is The Rev. Dr. Rocco A. Errico. (I have allready found one supposed christian website promoting him and lamsa why they never bothered to do some research first?.. but then there are many wolves in sheeps clothing these days and most are not even aware they are). His books are even listed on what should be christian book stores,,, but hey they also promote false teachers galore, including benning hinn, perhaps the most exposed as fake going (with all the evidence proveing it).Looks like lamsa has fooled many judging by the praises for his books here, so sad.
