No, it doesn't. It is rust-resistant.

Q: Where can i find the optional s hook? a search yielded a pack of 20! seriously, 20 hooks for one swing? why not provide an s hook with each purchase?

You can buy those anywhere!!! I bought a pack of 3. You can use the other 2 for other things. I use a lot of the "s" hooks to hang different things. I buy the 3" thinnish black hooks and use them to hang light weight battery operated candle lanterns with timers over my curtain rod!!

Q: Does this come with directions, I want to send as a gift but Im not sure she will know what it is!

To the best of my recollection, it does not come with directions but the packaging helps someone to know what the item is for. I used bread ties to secure the hummingbird swing to my fixture. It’s extremely easy to hang and so fun to watch.

Q: Does this come with an S hook or just a ceiling hook with a screw on the end?

I used a cup hook and have had few small birds sit on it. If you really want to draw in the birds. Get yourself a suet hanger and some suet blocks. They love it and go crazy for the peanut butter block. I have quite a variety of birds from small ones up to flickers and even an occasional blue jay. Keep it away from any place where raccoons could get at it. They will pull it down if at all possible and open it and steal the who cake. i have a frend who likes to put our two or 3. they have been taking them and opening opening them and stealing the whole cake and leaving the suet hanger on her lawn.
