Really nice fake fireplace…seriously. Looks great and functions well

Before ordering this, I very carefully measured our fireplace opening. The opening size was 34 1/4" wide by 21 1/8" tall at the closest points. This insert is supposed to fit into a 21" tall opening. When I installed it, it got wedged in and I couldn't quite get the bottom flush with the opening. The closest I could get it left about a 1/4" gap at the bottom edges. I should note that there is a mortar line in our fireplace at the exact location that the bottom of the insert is resting. So, I think the fireplace opening should be at least 21 1/4" tall or maybe a little better for a perfect fit. I am afraid to try to remove the insert, so I cannot provide the actual insert height dimension. I should note that the small gap at the bottom of both sides is barely noticeable, so I'm still happy.On the plus side, the insert looks great and has one of the best displays I've ever seen in an electric fireplace! We love it! It also arrived earlier than the estimated arrival date, by almost a week.I am an experienced electrician, so I installed a GFCI protected outlet into the back of our fireplace to plug it into.

This fireplace insert is magical! It is coziness at the touch of the remote. The heat function is almost silent and puts off enough heat to feel 20' away. The options (like crackling sound) are such fun. The only thing I wish is that the ends of the "logs" were darkened just a bit. Great, great value for the price. We highly recommend this product.

I absolutely love the change this Puraflame insert made in my home. The photos show the transition from having a pellet stove insert (which was great for heat output, but a hassle to clean and no longer needed after getting a split duct heating system), to the old, bare fireplace opening after taking out the pellet stove, to how it now looks with my Puraflame installed.It arrived by UPS in perfect shape and the packaging was superb. I ordered the 33 5/64 x 21 inch model to fit the height limit of the opening and had to put in some simple 2x4 framing on the bottom and sides to cover the remaining gaps. I also used 6” floor molding painted flat black to build a trim surround to cover up the 2x4’s but more importantly because I wanted it to not look like a TV stuck into a fireplace opening. The trim gives it more depth and a much more appealing look in my opinion.The unit works perfectly and provides the most realistic looking fire I’ve seen, so much better than other options. The heat output can’t compare to my pellet stove obviously but we were only using that for backup heat during power outages at this point so it was nothing more than a vacant showpiece without a flame 99% of the time. Now, I can have a cozy, soothing “fire” going all the time and it adds so much more warmth and peacefulness to the house. Using the heat option is easy and useful if I need it.I am so happy I bought this. Highly recommended as an easy, elegant way to upgrade and add true coziness to your home.

This electric fireplace replaces an electrically controlled on/off natural gas fireplace (imitation logs). The local high winds were always blowing off the pilot light. Every time I wanted to use it the gas fireplace I had to relight the whole unit and it did not heat the family room very well.This electric fireplace eliminated the safety problem and was very easy to install. Fortunately I did have an electric outlet already wired so it was not a problem. The unit fit perfectly into the opening after removing the handles as suggested. The fireplace look very good and puts out a decent amount of heat.The instructions for the controls could be less muddled, but they will do.I recommend this product.
