Q: Will this work on a flexible plastic surface and not fall off?

Hi there, use the epoxy first and then the dye.

Q: Do you add these to epoxy or directly to the item you are dying? For example, if you're making tumblers, to you put this dye in the epoxy resin?

I would say you add this directly to the item, then seal in epoxy. These alcohol inks (not dyes) usually are blown out into designs, so if you had a glossy ceramic surface (for example), you’d make your designs first probably then seal in epoxy. However, double check with Google to see if these can be added to epoxy instead?
