I received this and my first use was to fry chicken. It worked well, kept me informed of the oil temperature accurately.The one thing I found that I did not like is that after approximately 10 minutes, maybe less, the thermometer automatically turned off. Luckily, I was paying attention to my chicken because, you know, hot oil 😂I also found that I need to play around with the clip it comes with to figuring out depth placement. I shallow fried and it was challenging to keep the tip from touching the bottom of my skillet, which would have given an inaccurate temperature reading. Otherwise, a decent digital thermometer for the price.

This thing is great! I make Divinity, fried Beignets other candies in deep sided pots. Because of the tilting head, I can set it to my best level for me to see easily. Easy to read and automatically turns off if forgotten about. I think it's accurate.

The first time I used it, shortly after the temperature showed 295 (F), the displayed stopped working. After the unit cooled down it worked again. The next time I used it, the display continued to work but never went over 295 (F), a quick check with another thermometer, showed my oil was at 365 (F) and climbing. This could be very dangerous.

just love these digital thermometers easy to read flexible heads to move up and down at any angle, regardless of the light. Very stable and durable accuracy has always been spot on, and the quality of these thermometers has always impressed me ready to use when they come out of the box after you pull the tab from the battery, they came with the extra battery in the package, which is very nice. Definitely good value for the money.

The temperature seem to be just fine but if you're using a basic 3 qt saucepan for making candy as I was it tips over. You need to use a deeper pan. It's top heavy and falls off the pan so I had to return it
