Breakout Board
Brilliant for the experience or none experienced developer.

Worth it
It's freenove, which hands down are the best for dev boards & getting started tutorials.I bought this to get off breadboards, the lights for every pin were an unexpected bonus.I'm not sure you can go wrong with freenove (in 2023/24) - they've always 'overdelivered' for customer satisfaction.[I have 20 * -s3s = medium to advanced).Their starter kits are great too.

Proprietary pin spacing
Why oh why would you make this proprietary instead of following the same pin scheme as all other esp32 boards. None of my ‘non-freenove’ boards fit and even if they did the pins are ordered differently. Scummy move from an otherwise reputable brand. That aside, the board works nicely, the leds are nice and not too bright so it’s easy to see which pins are on/off. 7-12V dc input is a nice addition but would be even better with pin headers as well as the DC barrel, or even better USB.Even better yet, support 5V DC in. If you power the ESP directly over USB, the 5V power pins on the dev board do NOT work. The 3V3 pins work but don’t have enough decoupling which can cause issues. The terminal blocks would be really handy on a breakout board for install, but would be better replaced phoenix blocks or with pin header sockets for development.Make sure you stick some feet on it and maybe add a thick conformal coating to the bottom so nothing gets shorted out.

Does not work with ESP32 WROOM
ESP32 Wroom-32 would not boot when used with this breakout board!

Voltage regulator burned
I plugged it on a reliable 12V supply. There was strange behaviour with lights on random IO going on/off, though the esp32 only had a blinky test firmware. After I re-seated the esp32 a few times pressed reset, e.t.c. the voltage regulator on the breakout board burned. Also it is not compatible with the esp32-s3 development board that has 44pins.
