Good quality

Really accurate, good form factor, well made. Though I find the menus a bit tricky to navigate and know exactly what I'm looking at. Like "is this measurement including or excluding the length of the device" Probably I just need to spend more time using it but it only comes out occasionally. But it's far quicker and easier than needing two people to hold a tape.

I was optimistic, it is full of opportunities and good ideas, but the implementation is terrible. Watch the official video, eg the virtual ruler. You can see, just for a second, it does not react fluently, it makes this function totally useless. You move half a cm and nothing changes. NOTHING. It shows the same distance. And I am talking about a 2 m distance, not 15 m. - Accuracy: 41.5 cm was measured at 42 cm. I am using this example because I could measure this distance well with another tool. It is suitable for only estimation, nothing else. And it is not just because of the tool, it is really hard sometimes to keep it on a surface well and keep the point. - Because of the curved edges, it is impossible to use the top part as a measuring base. You cannot fit it to a surface without covering the laser source or the lens. So theoretically this function exists, but you never will use it. - Display: What you can see in the video or pictures are NOT REAL. The brightness and contrast are MUCH LESS. See my pic that was taken inside from close, and it still seems a little bit more bright than in the reality. - The mobile application, long story short: it causes more problems than solves. -- THERE ARE MANY HUGE LIMITATIONS: you can create only 12 picture-based measurements. 12!!! And OK, you would think you can export/save them somewhere else, right? Yes and no. You can export them one by one - this is another annoying thing -, but the exported version resolution is much worse than you can see in the app. The exported "result" is 900x900 px, and the photo on it is only 500x280. 70% of this small image is a black nothing. Why? Why it cannot use the larger original image? Was it designed for Nokia 3310 in 2000 or what? The programmer has created the function and why (s)he thought this is the best way for exporting? -- I have made a vertical photo, but the app showed it horizontally. Never mind, I added the values to this. Today I opened it to export this - you remember, there is a 12 limit - and it showed the picture vertically, but the drawn values are not fitted anymore. And no, there is no option to rotate anything. -- The hand-drawn floor plans editor does not give you many possibilities. You can draw and delete. You cannot move points or lines, BUT the program will move them. There is only one way how you can use it and you will be punished if you want to use it in a different - more efficient - way. You cannot change the text size, so it is really easy that the labels start covering each other, and you just cannot see important things. -- And yes, you can export them as well, but it randomly cuts the result. Sometimes complete labels are missing. ---- Do not waste your time and money. A laser tape is useful, but you have to know: - They are inaccurate. In many cases, it does not matter, and faster than the accurate version. - Avoid HOTO app. Paper and pencil, OR if you want to use your mobile, look for a simple drawing app. So if you need laser tape, buy a cheap one.

I really like this little digital laser measure. It is pretty small and easily slips into a pocket. The device has only 2 buttons for control. You can download their app and connect the device to your phone to access more features. The top larger button is used to power the device on and off (long press), this is also used to take your measurements. The side button cycles through the various measurement modes options, there are 5 different measurement options that can be selected, The build quality feels really good indeed and It feels really sturdy. It measures distance, angles, and angular heights and has a virtual ruler. My husband has tested it on a variety of surfaces and modes and whilst some of them need a reference to the manual, you soon get used to what button combination does what. The display itself is backlit and very clear and easy to read. Test measurements compare to a retracting rule show it is very accurate. Overall, it is a very useful tool but in my opinion, it is very overpriced.

Has this for a while, used infrequently. However checked its accuracy against a metal tape over 3m. It was a massive 15mm out. It’s going in the bin as I wouldn’t even give it away
