About as bright as me...
It's a nifty little light I suppose..once you get used to holding it vertically or if you leave it as a headlamp....but the brightness was definitely a disappointment. Still it's worth it just for the 18650 battery...only I feel it will get quite annoying to have to remove the battery just to recharge it...I'd give it about 3.5 stars

I have purchased 7+ of these lights over the recent years
I have purchased 9 of these lights, over the years since 2018.I buy them because they work and the price is low enough that they can be lost and given away without pain. I also have a number of the batteries that this light uses. The lights are understandably more front - heavy than the ones with the battery packs on the back of the head. However, the simplicity of the front battery is worth not dealing with battery cables and connection weak points.Issues1) Only 1 had issues (out of the box) with turning off randomly. I should have returned that one. (Edit, 2022Sept- I contacted the seller, Atactical Direct, and the bad one was swapped for a new one, with haste. Great company to do business with).2) Over time, the headstrap will start hurting if not worn on top of a hat or beanie.I love these lights.

Excelente producto!

Practically perfect in every way
So ... if it has a short coming then it's the narrow beam, but that makes it easier to keep out of people's eyes. Easy to change settings. Comes back on the setting it was in when turned it off. Cleans up easily after you've trashed it in some cave or other adventure. NOT a dive light, but easily takes a short dunking. Useful dimmer settings to help extend that battery life. Has held up to multiple drops and bangings. Reminder: never abuse the lens, it's recessed for a reason. Holds its position wherever you set the tilt and adjusts easily while on the move. If it's too annoying for you, it can be used without the over the head strap, but I keep one on the headrest of my adventure rig (facing backwards) so the top strap is perfect for keeping the light in place and handy. From what I've experienced after 18 or so months, it will work in stellar fashion with just a small amount of TLC.

Really great headlamp for working on stuff.
Brightness: Bright enough to cause other people to squint in discomfort, or dim enough to get up to go to the bathroom without waking your partner.Beam: Has a relatively wide hotspot in the middle. Seems to be a bit more throw than flood, but it definitely works better for flood-related applications like working on your car. I would not call this a "thrower".Controls: Enough for the light to be versatile and interesting, but not so many that it's complicated to useQuality: Not the most sturdy feeling light ever, but feels pretty solid. All metal, no wobble or battery rattle that I can perceive.Headstrap: Comfy and adjustable. I have a very large head and I have no issues getting it to fit nicely. You can spin the light within the headstrap for vertical direction adjustment.Battery: I have not drained this thing all the way from a full charge, but it seems to last a long time on medium brightness without any issues or dimming. Medium brightness is probably bright enough for most tasks that you would use this for. If the battery does die, you can easily place another (button top) 18650 inside while you wait for the other to recharge via USB. The USB battery that comes with this also has an indicator light on top to tell you the charge status.SAFETY: Be careful with this...at max brightness, it does get very hot. I put it in my suitcase one day and somehow unknowingly activated the Turbo mode. Later I smelled burning plastic and found that it had slightly melted the foam packing in the box. My advice for you if you buy this is to UNSCREW THE TAILCAP slightly when you are storing it - it cannot turn on if you do this.Complaints: Not much. It would be cool if I could use this while it was charging, or if the battery had a USB-C port instead of Micro-usb, but these are pretty small complaints and not enough for me to take any stars off. Conclusion: If you work with your hands on cars or in the dark a lot, this is an amazing light for the money. It is bright, easy to use, feels solid enough, straps to your head or is comfortable to hold in your hand, and is rechargeable without the need to buy a charger. And if it breaks or is lost, $30 for a new one will not break the bank. Well worth the money.

Great little head/torch
A very useful well built torch. I spent a lot of time looking at reviews of different makes, most of them above £70. It is not the most comfortable headstrap as the holder bit does dig in very slightly. Some people may not like the fact that the battery has to be taken out to charge it but that does mean you can buy a spare battery which could be very useful.ProsYou don’t have to cycle through settings every time you turn it on.Long hold when turning on puts it on dim nightlight which is great if you don’t want to disturb others.Plenty bright enough with simple setting. It’s also just a torch.ConsNo clip to attach to a pocket which would be very useful (fao seller.. sell it with a clip). So would I buy again? Yes definitely. If you want a torch bright enough to find satellites then this isn’t for you. But if you want a handy useful little lamp then I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

Very good Torch. Fantastic price to value.
I used to have similar torch from big brand. Unfortunately I lost it and decided not to pay another 150£ for replacement, instead bought this WOWTAC A2S. What a fantastic torch. There is no difference between it and big brand. For fraction money you will get very good torch. The only bad thing is a battery but come on... use a normal 18650 battery and you good to go. I had no problem using any 18650 battery including some dismantled from an old laptop... ( the battery which torch comes with is quite bad, does not keep charge - 2 days and is dead). Amount of light this torch gives is more than enough, I would say it is exactly the same as big brand I mentioned. The picture you can see below was taken in complete dark with this torch on only... Very impressive. Highly recommended.

Excellent at twice the price!
***A year on edit:Still working solid. Battery life is still amazing, I use it almost daily. The power still amazes me too. Only downside, procuring spare batteries is not easy.Never heard of wowtac, bought this after some googling. I'd always bought petal, and this blows similar prices one out of the water, even double the price really. I've not had it long, but is working fine, very powerful, very intuitive to use. The head bracket isn't plastic like on other head torches I've used, which tend to break, this is very hard but flexible rubber, with no moving parts - altering the angle is done by twisting the torch inside the bracket, a far superior method. My only criticism is a ridge on the inside of the bracket digs into my forehead slightly, but that could just be my head, and could easily be covered up. Was suspicious of the battery type, I usually go for ones I can purchase globally, quite hard to find in shops these.

Well built, a true lumen rating that shows up cheaper torches claiming to have 1000000's of lumens!
As a massive torch nerd I had considered other brands such as Olight and armytek, which were all at least double the price of this. Finding our wowtac are intact THRUNITE in disguise I took the plunge, definitely not disappointed! Very bright a good mix of throw and flood, perfect for walking etc. One part I feel needed advertising better was the fact the instructions fine print says not to use turbo for more than 10 minutes at a time.Plus this can double up as a handheld torch is win win, you won't be disappointed.

Really bright head torch
Wish the product was more around the £20-25 range but other than that spot on! .USB C battery charging would make this worth £30.No external battery charger as Battery itself is rechargeable. Comes with micro usb. So adds extra height to the battery. Standard 18650 battery still fits and works a charm in the headtourch ;) the battery still just about fits in an external charger so be careful on over charging those batteries if plugging directly into the battery. I'd Might recommend an external charger to be on safe side
