Very good!
Good solid build and very compact - Unbelievable 30v 5amp performance...made my 10 ohm 100 watt test resistor cook nicely! Easy to read bright LCD display - The dual course and fine controls enable accurate voltage and current settings - At least 30% cheaper than the nearest equivalent that I could find.Would have liked DC isolation switch and some preset controls for 5Volt and 12Volt operation but overall this is a minor consideration and is a very worthy 4star rating

Only lasted one hour
This is a very nice power supply, well made and not too large, with a very clear display.Initially I used it at low currents, and it worked well being particularly regarding the voltage settings. The test leads provided fell apart very soon.Unfortunately my sample failed after an hour when loaded to 5A @ 15V when supplying a pulsed load.Update 3/9/13Circuit Specialist have been very good in responding to my request to replace the item and I should have it in a few days. Excellent service. I am told this is not a common occurrence and we are working together to try and determine the cause of the failure.

Excellent Product which serves the purpose
This DC Bench Power Supply is used in my jewelry workshop on a daily basis. It is a well designed compact bench top regulator of excellent quality. You get great value for the price. I am very happy with it. I use it for gold, nickel , rhodium and copper plating. It arrived well packaged and fast. I can highly recommend this product.

So far working well. Have not tried to charge ...
So far working well. Have not tried to charge any batteries, I will do over the weekend, I have 6 lead acid gel 12.5 VA/hr batteries,OK, Works as a gel battery charger.Using this to derust and anodize various items.Maxed the PSU at 5 amps, held out well.Setting current limit to make sure the current does not go high over night, worked well.PSU has been working for several days.Changing to 5 Star.PSU failed and replacement received.Good service from supplier.Update, Failed, ordered another 10 amp Bench PSU, this has lasted since 2016. Has had some brutal treatment. It is my Smoking room so possible cause. Pity I liked it, been needing a more powerful one for ages so no probs.

Budget Power Supply
Well I got this out of the box to discover the circuit board loose on the inside! It's held on with two screws through the chassis - which had been over tightened and stripped the thread!!It was an easy fix - I simply replaced the two screws with two bolts, BUT I had to strip the cover off, (8 self tappers, the point is the quality control sucks !!Anyhow once that was sorted the unit works quite well, fairly small and quiet - there is a small fan in the back, if you are running at high current and the unit gets too hot, so far it has not needed to come on for me, (I'm running at around 12V 2A).You can set the voltage or the current, the other parameter alters to suit. The LCD is quite bright and easy to read. There are coarse and fine controls, set the coarse and then adjust, (fine approx +/- 1 volt). The display is not too accurate, I've checked it against a fairly good meter, 12V on the meter reads 12.2V on the power supply, 1.66A on the meter reads 1.68A on the power supply, so it reads slightly high! All in all though for a hobbyist the price/performance is not too bad!

Excellent
I bought this unit to power vintage tinplate toy trains, which it does perfectly. To be honest, the 'fine' controls make little if any difference for this application, but doubtless would do for alternative uses. The main 'coarse' controls suit me perfectly. Seems to be a well made, solid item, backed up by UK based supplier warranty.

This is not a reliable bit of equipment and its not truly digital like you may think. Avoid!
I have had it with this unit. You can't accurately control the voltage. If you set the course adjustment to say 12 volts and tweak it with the fine adjustment to say 12.2 volts. Then it buzzes and jumps around from 9 volts right up to 17 volts - at random as and when it feels like it.The issue is something to do with the course adjustment side where it is not digitally controlled despite the display being a digital voltage readout.Even the display is off by 0.2 volts at least when it is occasionally working. The amperage is also out of whack. With nothing connected it shows a load of 0.25 amps and when I connect a 0.75 amp load it shows 0.38 amps.Lets not talk about the high pitch wine this thing throws out all the time.
