Hi im just a learner when it comes to arc welding after a few packets from Halfords I came across stark.I purchased a box of arc rods cut my metal then tried my hand at welding, the result? I came back for more.The rods are easy to handle though im a learner and do have problems at times because of it not the fault of the rods.they weld in any direction, you can bead and pool as much as you like and best of all, with tubed steel you can fill it in half the time at the welding points, if like myself you burn thru the metal, no problem you can fill in a shakes of a lamb tail bridging is easy.up hill, down hill, left right angled or just PD I recommend you give these rods a try for me they are the perfect host for the arc welder and the metals they support.henry deholmes. Not a bad rod/electrode, my mini me is wanting to learn mma so got these cheap as chips rods so my expensive ones arnt wasted! They seem to be quite reasonable, the slag is about average, does what it says on the box

I thought I was buying s/s rods, I had searched under s/s

I purchased these rods out of curiosity having read mixed reviews. Setting Amps at 110 the first rod, on some scrap 6mm plate, stuttered initially but then burst into life and ran a fair bead. It stopped twice but I put that down to pilot error.Second rod I upped the Amps to 115 and immediately the difference was noticed, strong bead good penetration.Good value for money.
