External Floppy Drive, 3.5" USB &Type C Floppy Disk Reader Portable 1.44 MB FDD for PC Windows 2000/XP/Vista/7/8/10/11

This thing worked for about five minutes before it began failing. First, it quit "seeing" the next floppy I inserted, giving me instead the LAST floppy's contents. It could NOT be forced to give me the directory of the new floppy. Then, after screwing around for over half an hour, it began failing after EACH AND EVERY DISK inserted. I had to keep unplugging and replugging the thing into the USB socket just to MAYBE get it to red the current disk directory.REVISED (03/08/2023): Opened the drive and found 8 poorly soldered connections, one of which was the power supply lead from the USB connector. Any movement of the device while connected would disconnect the drive. This was most of the problem. The rest were scattered about the printed circuit board. Once all were re-soldered, it worked fine in Windows 10/11 and four flavors of Linux.

Drive worked once. it worked just fine the first time we needed it. The 2nd time we went back to use it i won't even register or read a disk. Now we're outside there return window. Avoid this drive

The product works well but the build quality is somewhat lacking. I use the product to load midi files to a pc. Upon receiving the product and inserting a disk 3 or 4 times the door that protects the unit from dust broke a pin on one side and became lodged inside. The door was removed and the unit functions fine but now has no door.

I found an old floppy disk that had information that I thought was lost!! So I ordered this to plug into my M1 Mac Mini. I prayed it would work as the file was created on a Windows 98 computer using MSWord. I was elated that this drive read and recovered all the files on the floppy disk using my MS Word for Mac!!!

So far it has read every 3.5 disc I have. Was able to get some old pictures and files back that I thought were gone forever.
