Engaging story, addictive combat
I'm so glad that I bought this game. I was really on the fence about it. As I've grown older, I've become less attracted to "anime-style" games with younger characters, but I tried out the demo anyway. After spending about an hour with the demo, I was sold. I ordered a used copy from here, and I just have to say it is so much more fun than games that are rated a lot higher. In fact, I'm tempted to just stop looking at metacritic scores. A game is more than the sum of its parts, and having the most cutting-edge graphics or appealing to the most people doesn't mean it's a better game. What sets this game apart from others is its combination of excellent story, combined with an engaging and addictive combat, and excellent feeling of progression. The battle system is really good. It feels a bit clunky at first, but after about five hours in, I was seriously gelling with the mechanics, and taking out armies of varried enemies. The quick-time events enhance the regular combat, and the gameplay is almost rhythmic at times. Knowing when to counter and dodge is very important, and fans of games like Ys and Ninja Gaiden might enjoy this type of gameplay. The story, setting, characters and vibe are really good. On the surface, it looks like another "uwu anime game", but the characters are well-written, with solid voice acting. Each character has real depth, and they act like real people. The "Stranger Things but in Japan" atmosphere is also really cool. There are some genuinely scary sections in this game, but it all feels campy and fun at the same time. This game is also a dating sim. But in the best way possible. It doesn't take over the game, but serves as a way for the player to choose how to power up their character. That said, if you do get into the story - and I did - the mini-games and scenes are a lot of fun.Honestly, I give this game an honest 5/5. Sure, the graphics aren't very impressive, especially on a PS5 which is so much more capable. And I don't like being on a timer. Combat can also be difficult and frustrating - It requires patience and work. But everything pays off, and the game is a blast to play, and most of all - It's a breath of fresh air. I've never played anything quite like this before. Try the free demo, and if you enjoy that, then you'll probably LOVE this game. I certainly did, and I'm not selling my copy.

Worth Sticking Out
A respectable effort from an Indie studio. This game has its flaws and feels a bit bare bones and wearing out its welcome at times, but it’s worth seeing through to the end as it actually finishes quite strong. This is kind of like Persona meets dating sim, if you can imagine that. Solid addition to the library of an enthusiast but perhaps not the safest gift from a non gaming buyer. If you aren’t sure the person you’re purchasing this for is into this genre you may be better off going with Persona or something more mainstream.

Good game, now physical
This was a fun game, and I played it when it released digitally. Definitely wanted to have a physical edition for my collection, and I was happy with what was received.Comes with the case and the game as standard, and runs great on PS5. If you’re a fan of JRPGs and social links à la Persona (or any of the other 100s of games that contain this mechanic), then this one is a no-brainer.But with confidence, this one is well worth the asking price of the physical edition.
