Tales from Shakespeare (Wordsworth Children's Classics)

This is a great way for a child/young teenager to learn the plot of the Shakespeare plays. It is written in a readable, enjoyable way, making it easy to learn the story and what is actually going on. That makes it easier for the pupil to understand the language that the Bard is using. It was aimed at children when it was written, however, I can see it being helpful even for the GCSE student, to give the overview when starting with a new play - or even the A level student who wants to compare different plays.

Love that this is written using as much of Shakespeare's language as possible - makes the transition to the 'real thing' so much smoother and easier. It's not dumbed down like some children's Shakespeare stories are. My home-educated kids love the stories.

Cannot highly recommend this book. A must have one.

I’m the first to admit that I hate reading but was enticed to read this book because of hearing it being read in a film I enjoyed. So it’s a miracle that I can say that I’m enjoying this book. Thank you

Absolutely brilliant. Shakespeare written so even I can understand. I hope it's read in schools. It should be.

Daughter found it easy to read and the stories quite interesting, just as we did years ago. this edition has been well presented over the years which is good, also to introduce younger readers to classics.

Shakespeares classics such as Macbeth, Romeo and Juliet, Hamlet etc but in a shortened versions (10-20 pages average) so that children can read them but not get bored and in a language easier for kids to understand but without losing any of the effect!
