Is there a transformer in this product

Yes there is a transformer/choke in this fitting, controlling the lamp.

Is there a 4500K or 6000k version? I dont want yellow.

It not yellow lighting but cool white. Only version I know of.

Does this light have a on off switch

No. We wanted an extra worktop light but we had to connect it through plug socket.

Would this be safe to use as a reading light for bunk beds. Could kids burn themselves or take out the bulb and electrocute themselves?

Not sure we had a double and it’s in the kitchen. As a alternative I have a Philips rechargeable light that is safe for bed.
