I just installed the metal lock buckles on my right joy con and it worked just fine. I think the people who left the 1 star reviews lost the spring, used the wrong piece, or didn't put the small black button back on the correct way which all three can result in your joy-con not locking in place. I also got 2 left pieces and 2 right pieces. The tools worked just fine. Initially taking the screws out was slower than expected as there seemed to be glue or something on the ends once I completely unscrewed them and looked at the tips. none the less - the product was perfect and got here right on time.

Works like a charm. I was skeptical at first because I saw a few negative reviews about how the joycons continued to slide out. I really didn't want to dish out another 80 bucks to get the same color controllers as the ones I have. (Neon Red, Left and Right) I also could find where they sold the left red joy con separately! After finding this and taking about 10 minutes to install I was very satisfied with the end result. My left joycon wont even budge now. Only complaint is the screwdrivers they provide. Although not the best, if you take your time and turn it slowly while applying pressure, it works just fine!

I recently purchased a used switch and realized the left joy con was not locking very well and could slide right out with a little pressure.I ended up realizing that the small plastic locking price had a tiny chip. So I set out to find a replacement and found these nice metal ones.Due to the reviews of others I decided to place an order for tools separately as well since everyone was saying the tools stripped their screws or were the wrong ones.And boy am I glad I listened. The metal buckled themselves are absolutely fine. They feel very solid and fit right into place. I have 0 complaints about the buckles.The tools however? Garbage isn’t a strong enough word. Mine came with a set of tweezers as well, which were... okay... the tips bent on the first use, but you could still use them in a pinch.The screwdrivers were trash. I did give them a try just to see, and I’m not even sure they were the right size and definitely would have stripped the screws.The set I bought separately pulled the screws out super easily without any pressure.Overall, the product is solid but you absolutely must buy tools separately.

Broke my battery but changed the stick

I was playing my Nintendo Switch a couple of weeks back and noticed the right Joy Con was wobbly, loose, and in extreme cases, would slide off of the Switch without me having to press the eject button. I researched possible ways to fix the problem and decided the most cost effective solution was to fix it myself. The latches get worn down easily, and instead of buying an entire new set, I decided to try to fix it myself. I'm not usually the type, but the video and instructions included with the replacement parts were easy to follow. A bit frustrating? Yes, but with perseverance and a little elbow grease, at the end of the day it felt good knowing I saved some money and fixed the problem myself. A great product and one that won't wear down like the plastic in the Switch. If you have a little bit of fix it yourself and patience, this is the way to go to fix your loose Joy Cons.

I've bought several of these because my son can destroy his joycon controllers in no time! Super easy to install, lots of tutorials on YouTube to go off of if needed!

Okay, so first I'm just going to say these fixed the issue with the plastic ones not holding on (due to them getting nicked). In fact, I'd say they hold better than the plastic oem pieces ever did.Now, about the tools. Just to put it into perspective of how bad they are - they are so bad, they can't even strip the screws. The handle on them is absolutely horrid, and digs into your skin, especially if you have big hands like me. And worst of all, they just don't work. The screws never even budged when using them, even when pressing g down with all my strength. Still have the marks on my hand from that handle digging into my skin.So, on that note, BUY A SEPERATE TOOL KIT!! I suggest something from ifixit, most of those come with some kind of tri-wing screwdriver, and those work perfectly.Im rating 3 stars because the actual replacement piece worked perfectly. The included tools were just bad enough to dock 2 stars off. Yes, I recommend these to anyone having problems with joy-cons sliding off, definitely. But BUY A SEPERATE TOOL KIT!!

Works fantastic. I would assume most of these bad reviews are from people who installed the wrong lock into their Joy-cons. There is a left and right lock for each Joy-con but they are not labeled in the packaging, which is my only con I could give this product. When you take off the plastic lock on your Joy-Con, just make sure to match it to one of the metal ones, otherwise they will not lock and you'll be upset like all these one star reviews. I made this mistake at first and my device would not lock. I corrected the issue and it works great now.I did not use the included drives so I can't speak about their quality but if your going to be opening up your Joy-Cons I highly recommend getting professional grade drivers like an iFixit kit.

I bought two joycons and the joystick completely broke off of one. I gave this kit a try because the joycons are expensive to replace. Definitely glad I did. It came with the tools and was super easy to do. I fixed the joycon and it works as good as new, and it matches exactly like the other, I can't tell the difference. Plus, I also use the tools for other things that have annoying tiny screws, and have extra parts incase another breaks. Some people may find the tools weak, but if you take your time it's fine. They are just meant for simple, small screws, so work well for that. The parts are what matters and they are great quality, the cheap tools are just a bonus. Would recommend.
