Will this work with the spektrum DXS transmitter

I use a Spektrum DX8 transmitter. I am unfamiliar with the DXs as long as it is Spectrum 2.4 mega hurt it should have no problem binding

Does Spectrum provide a downloadable setup file for this smaller A-10?

At the time that I set my UMX A-10 up, they had a downloadable setup. I questioned it for my crash on maiden. I then programmed my transmitter by the setup guide in the A-10’s manual. My issue turned out to be a very bad center of gravity due to incorrect battery placement. Early on radio setup is a little daunting. After a little experience it becomes really easy. YouTube personalities like Brian Phillips RC are a wealth of knowledge and take you from unboxing all the way to customizing setup after several flights. If you are intending on this being your first plane I greatly caution you to get a slower more forgiving plane like the sport cub s2. Even though the UMX’s are light, warbirds like the A10 are relatively much heavier and require a more nose down approach and very late flare on landing. You can glide them down high alpha or nose up like a civilian plane. But, you risk a full stall that will destroy your very fragile landing gear. Back to radio setup, with eflite and hobbyzone you don’t have to worry about control surface throws until you start subbing out servos. Which you are very unlikely to do on a umx. The rest of the setup is super easy and mostly customizable. To answer your question. I don’t know if they still have a downloadable file. They probably do. But, I wouldn’t make my decision to buy the UMX A-10 on the download. If you want to view the manual and possibly set up your transmitter prior to buying, it is available digitally at no cost from the HorizonHobby.com website. Buying that plane on Amazon or directly from HH only changes who brings it to you and if the Zon makes any money. Price to you is probably identical.

You need radio and battery, battery is very hard to find. The first battery i ordered did not fit

Brilliant flier and impressive scale detail. It is a pity that E-flite make use of such poor quality foam. The battery bay edges are extremely fragile. If you don't take great care they will break away and crumble very easily.

I LOVE this plane, it’s small, has great maneuverability, looks beautiful, and is very powerful for its size (around 70mph), some things like high alphas are difficult but scale maneuvers and beyond scale maneuvers are a breeze and the plane looks excellent while doing so. **BUT THIS IS NOT A FIRST PLANE** First of all this listing of this plane is BNF Basic (Bind And Fly) which means you still need a battery, charger, and transmitter, which is pricey. Secondly this plane is not easy to land, its stall characteristics are pretty brutal at times and without a decent sized runways slowing down enough without stalling can be difficult, and if you try and hand launch it without a second person sometime a wingtip will stall and dip that side into the ground pretty nastily and without both hands it’s can be almost impossible to recover from. Also if you do get into a crash it will likely be pretty nasty because this plane is not very durable. The nose is quite weak but most of the time it’s nothing a little glue and tape can’t fix. The big one though is the steerable nose wheel likes to come loose of the foam and break and that is a pain to fix (some hot glue in the hole should fix it). Lastly if you do pick up this wonderful warbird get the Asurion protection plan that is offered with it because no matter now experienced of a pilot you are, if you are flying this plane regularly you will probably crash it (or have a rough landing) and having the peace of mind that it reallly doesn't matter if you crash it is great.

Fun jet to fly, lots of power. I've owned the bigger A-10 one too, but the small one is just as much fun. If you want a nice jet park flyer. I'd highly recommend this A-10
