Close enough to real deal
We now love in Florida but thankfully to this product, we make garbage plates. Tastes great and although small package, I made enough for 5 different meals for family of 3

Close enough to scratch the itch
The immediate thing I noticed was the very strong smell of cinnamon, as soon as I opened the packet. Even after the sauce was cooked, the cinnamon scent was very strong, but the flavor was not overly cinnamon-y.But when I threw it together with some potatoes, mac salad, a white hot and some mustard... it was pretty close to the real thing! Little more on the spicy side than I remember from Rochester, but only a person with a mild palate would be bothered by the spice level.Is it perfect? Not at all. But it does scratch the itch. If you're craving a plate, this will do fine.Advice: cook the ground beef in the water, rather than browning it first. This will make the beef break apart very well and make for a smoother sauce, but you'll need to cook the sauce a day before and let it cool so the excess fat largely separates out.

Taste is subjective
I don't like to review food because everyone has different tastes. I didn't like this very much. It wasn't what we were expecting. This mix makes a lot of sauce. I don't know how to describe it other than it's very spice forward. I thought if it sat over night it would be better but I was wrong I'm giving it 5 stars because it was easy to make and the directions were easy to follow.

Too much cinnamon
Tasted it before using and like some of the other reviews way too much cinnamon for my taste so I tossed it and didn’t use it. Other flavors seemed nice and I wish they had a non cinnamon version.
