CST/berger RL25HVCK Horizontal/Vertical, Interior/Exterior Rotary Laser Complete Kit

I'm a homeowner and DIYer. I do things big, never some small little project, I shoot for the moon. So when i went to build my patio this past summer I went large again 21'x40' pavers with some massive cast stone stairs. I started off using an old optical transit and I knew I'd never get the job done waiting for a 2nd person to help me level things. So this product came into play. I used it through some light to moderate rain and it has held up just fine. This made my job so much faster as i was able to work alone and also shoot multiple points quickly and very accurately. I used both the vertical leveling and horizontal leveling features for the project. Auto leveling is a great time saver for setting it up.While this was very expensive compared to other transits out there i know i'll use it for lots of my future projects and friends and families also. I can't say a bad thing about any of the components of this set. Tripod seems solid and locks nicely. 8' measuring stick shrinks down to an easy to manage 3'. i had no need to use the inside hanging bracket yet. and even the sensor wasn't needed for my distances as i was able to either see the laser directly or by using the supplied glasses.All in all I'm glad i purchased this product.

I've used this for over 2 years now without a hiccup. Probably used it in the rain more than I should but hasn't bothered it yet. I love the remote and hibernate mode which saves batteries. I love to use the backhoe dipper arm for a depth gauge. I put tape on the backhoe, kill the lights and check my depth without leaving the seat. In bright conditions, you have to use the detector because you can not see the beam. Simple enough to use, my wife pulls it out to hang pictures. Feature rich enough, we haven't used them all.

This unit is not quite a full contractor grade transit. There are some plastic parts.But overall it seems solid. I am a General Contractor and I needed a second unit. For the price you can't go wrong. The next step is well over $1200.Lens is cased in glass and the housing has rubber over moulding. The tripod is pretty solid. My only gripe is the leg locks are plastic (heavy duty) but plastic. The rest of the stuff seems fine.Only major issue I've noticed is if you screw the head to the tripod to tight, it pulls the battery door open enough for the batteries to break contact and the unit shuts off. No biggie just don't he-man it.With a little care this should last a handyman for 10 years or a contractor atleast 2-5.

Awesome product. Had a little glitch understanding the laser, but played with it and figured it out. Would be nice if an instructional video was included. But love the product and highly recommend it.

ZERO stars.I received a unit that I presumed was horribly defective, then the replacement came and confirmed my fears — a design flaw.Both units would power down randomly and unpredictably. Something as straightforward as tightening the machines to their supplied tripods was enough to make all the lights go out, rendering the devices inoperative when firmly secured at the base.Apparently, something in the battery pack is loose, misaligned or poorly designed. The tripod is flimsy. The detector seems quirky and not very accurate. The manual leaves a lot to be desired. The authorized service center list is obsolete. There is no customer support.This is not what I would expect from a $700 rotary laser. I returned the units for a full refund and went with PLS instead. The PLS rotary unit got five stars from me.

We use this laser level kit primarily for laying out concrete work. It was simple to get going out of the box. We checked the calibration and it was spot on. The receiver is very sensitive, so it does give you very precise elevations at distance.

It would be nice if they shipped it with the stuff they say is in the box. It was shipped with cheaper parts than describe. It says it is made in Ilinoy, usa but box says ensemble in Malaysia.

This product was ordered on Friday and arrived at our remote town on Monday at noon. wow!!! It's a great machine does the horizontal and vertical beams with remote control and sensor to boot. Very industrial case and tripod and looks like it has been refined to beat the CST/Berger we have had for 3 years - and I might add - at 1/4 the price and twice the clarity of instructions and layout.Now I just need to see if 3/32" accuracy works for us at 2000 feet as we build straight fences. Will be buying more if this works out!!TWo days later - well guess what, the only thing that doesn' work is the beam control at over 500 feet. The dispersion of the beam is too wide for our needs. Am going to check with the mfr to see if they have a recommend. In the meantime we're holding on more orders and may have to return this one - sadly!!!

The CST/berger rotary laser level is a high quality professional grade tool with plenty of features for the pro and DIY'er. The vertical laser, remote control and wall bracket are all nice added features of this model / kit . Setup was relatively straight forward and the instruction manual is great and easy to follow. The tripod is a little disappointing and light duty. Time will tell if it holds up to use on job sites. The leveling rod shows measurements in standard only. It would be nice if it also showed metric measurements. I would recommend this product.

Makes my jobs as an excavation contractor muah more accurate and easy.
