VERY study - there's some "heft" to this one. When open to its fullest position, will hold and average amount of napkins (3" worth - not compressed). The holder will close to a smaller opening by pulling on either side - as if to "collapse" the thing flat like a cardboard box. That way, as napkins are used, the holder can be made smaller to keep them tight and upright. Really ingenious. Oh. And nice looking, too! Definitely a brushed nickel finish with black. Little rubber feet on the bottom.

Like the looks very heavy duty

Looks great and is sturdy, but it doesn’t stretch open and closed easily. I really have to work at it to squeeze it closed tighter in order to hold my napkins up.

We like the style of it. We have an oxo one that grips the napkins securely, but it looks a little weird.This one is quite nice looking, but the function didn't exactly match expectations.You either have to stuff it really full of napkins to hold them securely, or the two sides have to be really out of alignment to the point it feels like the napkin holder will fall over.that said, we use it and it looks nice on the table.

Worth every penny. It’s very solid and well made and adjusts easily. cCan hold many napkins while saving a lot of space on table.

I needed something to hold napkins on the kitchen counter, and this works. I have purchased other Umbra products and have been very happy with them. They work as designed.

It looks great, the black matches my kitchen accessories, and the napkins never fall over because the mechanism tightens up for fewer napkins. Great design.

I like that this napkin holder adjusts as the supply reduces, but it's short so larger square napkins flop over. I'm still deciding if I will keep it.
