EUREKA Air Speed Bagless Zuum Vacuum

If you're thinking about dropping hundreds on a Dyson, think again. At the time I bought this model (5 years ago) I was considering spending a bunch of money on a big clunky dyson because of the hype around it's suction power. Instead I read some objective reviews online and settled on this instead. It's a fraction of the price and it delivers on every penny.It's compact and fits well in an apartment closet. While it's not the lightest vacuum I've ever owned, it's a manageable weight (I can pick it up with one hand), and it moves easily when I push it around.I can't tell by reading this description, but my model came with adjustable brush heads for varying carpet heights including bare floor. Changing between the settings is super simple, just a dial on the front of the vacuum that clearly tells you what each setting means. A toggle in the back let's you choose between the vacuum and the tools, which are all sorted on the unit itself.We've had a dog for the past couple months and it's amazing at picking up the fur (see photos). As long as you maintain it according to the instructions on the back of the canister it keeps it's suction power like no other vacuum I've ever had.Disassembly for maintenance is also super easy, and aside from the Hepa filter everything else I've found inside can be rinsed and reused after drying (talk about savings!$$$$). That's not me being cheap - the directions actually tell you to rinse and reuse.Replacement Hepa filters have been really easy to find too.Here's the very short list of cons:- the canister is small, so if you have a large house or are picking up a lot of dirt (which this is capable of doing, you might find yourself needing to empty it multiple times. It's a really quick process to empty (just a button on the canister handle to detach, then another at the base of the canister to open and empty it) so I don't consider this a major issue.- the hose on the back can be a bit clunky to use. The strong suction has a tendency to make the hose want to stay coiled, but I also don't use that much so, again, I don't find it to be that big of an issue- the stair and upholstery brush leave somewhat to be desired. The brush heads stop spinning if you press down too much. That said, I've yet to find a good one of these so i don't consider it unique to this modelOverall, I LOVE this vacuum, and would definitely buy it again!Photos:- Before- After- What the vacuum picked up from that small area.

So glad I found this vacuum again! I had one for almost 10 years and loved it, unfortunately damaged it due to mishandling.After I tried other vacuums in stores currently under $100 range, I returned them and hoped to get lucky again to find this gem!What I love about it:- great suction on carpets. It’s not the best on hard floors, but I clean those with steam mop anyway so to me it is not a deal breaker- amazing thick cord that does not tangle- the dirt container size is perfect, the dirt and especially hair fall right out when I go to empty it out. On a lot of vacuums I tried, the containers are very long and the hairs get tangled at the top near the filter so that I had to reach into the container with my arm up to my elbow to pull it out. Absolutely disgusting, total dealbreaker, so I love that I don’t have to do that with this vacuum! Everything just falls right out when you go empty out the dirt container.

It continues to die every time we use it. We’ve cleaned it thoroughly. Both of our vacuums do this. Same brand.

Not as heavy as Hoover. Good for light cleaning.

Wife life loves this thing. She zooms around the house. Great suction power.

It doesn't work. It picks up stuff and drops it someplace else. I went over one area, moved on, looked back at the area I just vacuumed and it had stuff all over it. Plus, when you pick up the machine to move it to another room, the handle comes off. I bought it because it was recommend by my carpet manufacturer to not cause my carpet to get fuzzy. It was the cheapest recommended machine. Now I can see why.

I would have given it 5 - but after two months use the accessory nozzle came apart. I have contacted Eureka, and they said they would be sending the new part.
