Bowflex BXE216 Elliptical (Discontinued)

We looked at all ellipticals in this price range and above, including the NordicTrack 14.9 in the same price range. This not only felt a little more solid and stable, but we didn't care for the iFit screen and the video. We felt it left the key information too small and in test drives, didn't find the on-screen interactive trainers to be all that helpful. We felt like the Bowflex 216 instrument panel was just right.Now, it's two weeks in and we've used it everyday with great satisfaction. The instrument panel indeed works well, is organized nicely, and is intuitive. The heart rate monitor chest strap works very well once you give it a few minutes to connect with the machine. The hand grip heart rate monitor works well too. The hand positions all feel right. The movements are smooth, as expected. The BowFlex Results app on iOS works perfectly, and syncs with Apple's Health App, and through the Health App, the results are posted in MyFitnessPal.Being a techy, I (we) could have really liked the full-color LCD screen of the NordicTrack, but at the end of the day, it didn't positively contribute to the job that needed to get done, and could have been more of a nuisance than anything. The instrumentation of this Bowflex 216 is downright antiquated next to the NordicTrack, but in this case, old school LED displays gets the job done more efficiently, and isn't at all gimmicky.One minor thing is that the air from the fan smells like plastic, but it'll probably neutralize with time.We'll review the assembly separately, but we're super happy with the Assembler and service, worth every penny.

This elliptical is a really good heavy duty, sturdy feeling machine, squeaks a little, but as long as you use some of the oil that it comes with, that’s easily fixed , I’m very pleased with this purchase, I feel like I’m getting a really good work out. We watched the you tube video first on putting this elliptical together, which was really helpful, wasn’t too difficult.

We have been using our elliptical about a week now. It was pretty easy to assemble, took about 2 hours with 2 people. It's very nice looking and goes well with our Bowflex PR1000 home gym. We had a very old elliptical, so when we got on this new one, it was so much nicer and smoother than our old one. We made sure to purchase a new elliptical with a large flywheel which contributes to the smoothness. The display panel is nice, the fan is very weak. However, the wheels on the bottom started squeaking after a few days. I would have given 5 stars except for the squeaking. After figuring out where the sound was coming from, we oiled the wheels and the sound has finally gone away. This elliptical is almost as nice as ones at gyms. The difference is the stride length is shorter on the Bowflex. But all in all I would recommend this elliptical. I am cancelling my gym membership because the Bowflex elliptical and Bowflex home gym is a good replacement. And with the quarantine, we'll probably not be able to return to gyms for at least another month.

Wish there was a 1/5 star I could select. Piece. Of. Crap. Nothing but problems since we bought it. Put together exactly as Manual directed. Had only used it a few times but had to have their techs come out three times to fix it. First tech broke other parts and installed replacement leg wrong and was a creep. Second guy fixed what firs tech messed up but didn't fix the other issues (panel not recording distance and calories correct and heart monitor not working). He came back and fixed but now th leg that was replaced is creaking again and the wheels. For $1,900 I expected a professional piece of equipment, well made, and top technology. Instead...this hunk of shit that Bowflex can't even fix correctly. What a waste of money, space and time. Oh, and Bowflex wouldn't let me have my money back since sold through Amazon couldn't take it back because by the time we got the help to put it upstairs, then the tech here to fix it, the 30 days had passed. And the techs also said the machine looked used and the wheels over 6 mo ths old when at the time. We had only tried to use it 4 times. Apparently, according to the techs, store floor models are often packed back up as new and sold as new, even after people play on them at the stores...just more disappointment. Do. No. Buy.

Good machine, but i think my package was missing a few bolts.The pedals tend to “slip” and drop after an extended use, which required me to pause my workout to firmly set them again.Upon investigation it looks like the bolts and washers on the innermost side of the pedal should exist, but don't.Nothing a trip to the hardware store wasn't able to fix.With that out of the way I'm on to a healthier me, at least I hope, because the caloric calculator seems off... With the same exertion and time I use at the gym the calorie burn indicator shows about 1/4 what I see on other machines and on my watch.But I have a watch that tracks that, so I'm not too torn up about it.I don't regret the purchase, but there are likely equally good or better machines out there for less.

Amazing! It works!!!! Been working out 3x a week and results were quick! I started to get toned and I only been at it 2 weeks. Good motivation to keep going and increase the days.

This is an amazing elliptical. I have used it for few times now and I am not disappointed yet :) I had precore elliptical before this and I honestly think it’s better than that hands down. It like very bulky and quiet machine.
