Pentel Matte Hop Original + Sweet Color Ballpoint Pen, 14 Colors K110-V14ST

I've been wanting to buy these pens for almost two years and the price for the 14 pack kept rising due to its demand...I instead bought the 7 pack with the colors that I liked more.I love these pens, they write smoothly and the ink is incredibly vibrant, even the cream colored one. I know these pens are supposed to be used for scrap booking, which is the intent of the matte concept, however I used them for drawing as well, which is where my very minor gripe lies.I am left handed, so the ability for a pen to dry quickly is one of the most important things I consider when using one. I would say these dry quickly, but they do smear when using an eraser over it. Only slightly, but it does kinda ruin line art if not careful. I use the brown one for line art because it is a great color, but I wouldn't recommend these pens for that purpose. The drawing is a tad messy because I couldn't erase the guide lines easily. Otherwise, these are great pens

SUPER GOOD PENS!!! They write so juicy and are perfect for writing and drawing. The only hangup I see for myself is how quickly they dry up in the pen. I’ve noticed with a lot of them that I have to really force the ink out after not using them for a couple days even if I keep the cap on. I have to actually jam them onto a separate piece of paper for it to flow once again. But maybe im just using them improperly? Anyway, very good pens in terms of color, matte finish, AND JUICE!!!

The media could not be loaded. These popped up for me the other day and I have never seen these before or heard about them so wanted to give them a try because I am a pen/art supply fanatic. The price point seemed super fair so I figured why not give them a try. I decided to get all three packs because I knew if I liked them I would want all the available colors. I am soooo glad I ordered these- they are awesome!! I absolutely love GellyRoll Moonlights pens and use them very regularly, but there hasn’t been anything comparable on the market and for any colors other than what they offer I just have to use paint pens. These MatteHops work very similarly and offer color options that aren’t available for the GellyRolls. I already know I will be frequenting these. The ink is very smooth as well as writing with it is smooth. They are fun to play with and feel comfortable in the hand. I would say they write almost exactly like a traditional rollerball pen, fluid and smooth laydown, but when the ink dries it leaves an opaque matte finish. The colors are beautiful, though I wish they offered a white and more pastels (hopefully they will someday!). I’ve added a picture of the full line up on white, black and tan paper so you see how the ink shows up. When you first lay down the ink, the lightest colors can be a little hard to see but once it dries it is very vivid. I think the ink could smear if you wipe it too quickly; in the video you can see the drying time and I think it took four minutes for the three layer test to dry entirely to the touch. I’m not sure how long they will last since you can’t see the ink barrel, but at the price I have no doubt I will reorder when they empty.

These Mattehop pens from Pentel arrived in an adorable and sturdy red storage tin. What a lovely variety of ink colors. The ink flows quickly but neatly and smoothly, and the 1.0 mm nib allows you to produce confident writings and drawings. Thick but not too thick. Just get them! They are gorgeous!

I bought the 14 pack about 6 months ago. I used them twice right when I got them. Rich, vibrant and really loved them. I recently pulled them out and 12 out of the 14 wouldn't work. I used alcohol pads on the tip, warmed them up on low w/ blow dryer, figure 8s on textured and smooth cardstock. Ive always loved pentels pens but not these. Too late to return them as I don't have the boxany longer.

Most colors flow but not all of them. From the description, I expected the ink to flow easily and be really juicy. The light yellow and yellow-green don't flow at all.
