Devoted: Beneath the Mask Series, Book 3

Treasure
This book is so good. I adore Luca and Rosa. This has the perfect mix of danger, love, spice, revenge , drama - all of it. A good author can make you despise a character, fall in love with a character, and make it so you *need* to finish the book and find out if they get what they deserve. Luna does all of that.

Overall good read but dragged for a bit
I loved the chemistry between the MMC and FMC it just felt like the book itself dragged in a few chapters. I found myself sometimes rereading chapters just to make sure I didn’t miss anything. I overall loved the story and would definitely recommend for others to read but it is rather lengthy. Very much worth it though when the plot and story picked up some more!

I need more Luca!!
I am OBSESSED with Luca. He is the definition of patient and loyal. Rosa is so strong to continue to fight even after she loses so much. Her whole upbringing and family is so heartbreaking, but she continues to stay true to who she is and stays strong to protect those she loves. Their journey to love is my favorite so far of the series and takes such a wild turn of events. I need more Luca!! The spice is also done soooo well!Tropes:-Touch her and Die-Piercings 😳-Dark Romance-Mafia-Arranged Marriage

Lost my interest at the end
Was a good read for the majority, but towards the end I have to make myself finish itSpoilers belowThe part that I was struggling with is Luca's whole character is a made man, he built his empire up, going from brat on the street to basically don of the city. I understand he ends up wanting to step back to keep rosa safe from this life of crime, but it just feels weird for him to drop everything, move to another country with her, leaving his brother's behind. His whole character is based on Family, just it's just weird to leave them all behind and and dip out. It's a HEA but it feels hollow

Luca, Luca....What a Big-Softy
Luca and Rosa are two beautifully constructed characters, whose stories intertwine with each other in the most unconventional way possible. In the beginning, I felt conflicted at first when Luca kidnapped Rosa, weirdly enough, only because her kidnapping ended up meaning nothing to her father, Marco. As the story goes along and Luca comes to learn what vice has its hold on Rosa, do we then see the kind and caring side of Luca. Seeing this side of him, made me even more interested in his character than I already was through Book 1 and Book 2. What tied my interest in the bond that Luca and Rosa were building was when Luca was hell-bound on helping Rosa get clean and did not judge her for what happened to her. Rather he chose to seethe in that anger of what happened to her and with-held it until they found her assaulter. So what ties this whole storyline together and makes this solid dark romance mafia book, is how the plot for the book never gets lost amongst the smut, dialogue, or scenes. The spicy is spicy and rather than just being "spicy scenes", it adds to the character dynamic between Luca and Rosa, deepening their character connection. This deepening of connection makes you fall for them even more and pushes you to see how their story ends. I will say while reading this I was a little annoyed at both of them for withholding secrets of the plans they had in motion and the only way their secret plans come to light is when their hand is forced. Rather had they had open communication with each other something could have been avoided or modified. I understand why Luna wrote it this way because that line of communication eventually ends up being clear between them when things start to hit the fan.Overall, I admire Luca and Rosa's characters. They carry a deep love for each other and it burns hot no matter the tragedy that happens around them. Luna also did well in picturing the mafia world and how in that life, life itself is precious and it is deathly hard to keep everyone you love safe from it. Now, did she almost have me crying? Yes! Another thing to note about this book is that the male emotions shown by Luca are done beautifully, and Rosa's emotions are also shown appropriately based on the situation she is caught up in. One thing I will note about this book that caught my attention that I do not see often is that Luna addressed something very real. Luca thinks he does not matter and does not put himself first, because he is too busy taking care of everyone else. I love, love when Rosa tells him that he matters and that she will put him first and ensure that his needs are met when necessary. This exchange of dialogue is even more beautiful because it occurs in a moment when they both thought they were going to lose each other. This is something that happens in the world around us and to see a female character in a book remind a man, that he matters was heart-warming to read. So, if a story with a mafia boss, who will do anything to keep his "treasure", including burning the world down and starting a mafia war, then Luca and Rosa's story is for you!

I cried like a baby, I honestly had my heart broken too much during this book
The main characters in this book absolutely broke my heart in more ways than one. I would be reading through teary eyes trying to not sob over their stories. No only did I not anticipate Luca being the loving caring person he turns out to be but to sacrifice his own happiness for his family. Then the heartbreak that Rosa went through! I can not imagine how the author can write such amazing stories. This series is about the best mafia romance stories ever!
