I use these in our RV. Walls in an RV have a lot of "give", so I placed these switches in the outlets where things were plugged in and out a lot, like decorative little lights. These work great in outlets used to plug in holiday decorations -- just flip the switch on or off. I also like that these switches have a little light on them that makes them easy to find in dark rooms. The little light is on only when the switch is in the "on" position.

My wi-fi router* does not have a power button, so one of these works great as a workaround. The switches can be plugged into a conveniently located power strip so that individual devices can be switched on and off as needed.The switches are 1-1/2 inches wide so they may partially obstruct adjacent outlets on a power strip.An alternative is to use a power strip with individual switches for each outlet. Amazon carries several such products. oviitech should market one.* The AC power adapter is rated at 12V@1A, which is 12 watts maximum.
