I have two other stands and I hate turning the motor over and trying to find a spot to pin it. This one allows me to rotate slowly and leave wherever I want to stop it to do work. I have rebuilt two motors on it as of now and I would highly recommend this stand.

Being able to rotate the engine with ease is soo awesome. I am building a LS for a swap in my C10 and this makes it so much easier. With my old engine stand I had to use a bar to rotate the engine and more than once it spun out of my control. With this one I can rotate it a little or all the way around.

While I have no doubt the stand will do what it needs to, I’ll be putting my Dart 363 with aluminum heads on it. Judging from the poor attention to detail, the cheap paint, etc I don’t think I’d trust a big block on it. The tolerances are loose for sure and the part that came pre assembled, screws were loose and no grease had been applied. I rattle canned mine as the paint was awful. JEGS may have their name on it, but if I were to do it again, I’d save my money and buy something name brand.

Stand is pretty well made and maybe it will actually hold 1,000 lb's, but I would not want to work on an engine that heavy with this stand. It is a little shaky with a 500 lb engine on it.

The 1000 pound limit is really way less. I put a big block ford on this out of the box. Was too heavy for this stand to be used safely. I would get if it was just bolts bending replace with grade 8 but the plate is also buckling. The other thing that makes this stand hard to use. Other have a removable head so you can get everything mounted up, then you would lift the cart on to the mount. This one is all connected and makes is hard to work with. Sad to say ended up taking this motor right off the stand and putting it on a harbor freight stand. And even sadder is the harbor freight stand is better made and taking the weight. The whole reason I got this stand was the hand crank to spin the motor. It is a great feature, but the rest of the stand is not strong enough and is not safe.
