The ad for this item shows a video with wires. I can wire, no problem. But this plug nonsense is level expert, which I am. But this is BS. The price was right and now I know why.UPDATE: tried to wire it myself and it just grounds and sparks no matter how I do it. Nowhere does it say additional purchase required which I now learn is required to plug it into a pole. Lame. Description is misleading.

The media could not be loaded. I bought this to replace the tired old strobe which came with my truck, and it absolutely blows the socks off the old one for brilliance! Since I had a mounting pad on the headache rack, I opted to remove the magnet/suction cup mounting. I had to drill new holes in the steel and find some small bolts which could fit inside the recessed holes in the black housing. The magnet/suction cup just unscrews and exposes a 1/4" threaded hole which goes up into the electronics compartment. Hopefully water doesn't find its way up there. The small molded bolt holes require a small headed screw, since fitting a socket would be near impossible. It would have been nice if they included suitable hardware, but the model I got was intended for temporary mounting. I've read reviews of such mounting systems coming off on the highway, so prefer to bolt it down than worry about it flopping by the wire at some point.The housing claims to be waterproof, but the lens came unscrewed on me during mounting, and the gasket sealing the lens to the housing curled up a bit and it took a few tries to get it screwed back on. I might have to add a dab of silicone, as it doesn't seem to screw down adequately tight to resist coming loose over time. The cable is long enough to reach through the crew cab door and forward to the dash outlet.I removed the switches from the cigarette power plug and mounted the switches into the overhead console and powered them and a power outlet from the display's plug, running under the headliner through the high brake light port.Overall I can't find any serious faults in this light. The price is economical, the 6 patterns are nice, and the intensity is quite the upgrade from my previous strobe.

I thought the first one without a cord was a mistake and returned it, the 2nd one no cord still so I guess we supposed to buy our own cord, returned it too

This is the little light that could. It reminds me of a redesigned 21st century version of the “Kojak” light everyone seemed to have in the 70s and 80s. Only, this one does the job so much better!It’s slightly larger than my hand and low profile. However, the LEDs push out a ton of light, making it very visible in both daytime and nighttime situations.It doesn’t come with a ton of flash patterns, but what it does have works very well.The ability to plug and play is fantastic. Two buttons on the power plug: 1 to turn the unit on and off, the other is a momentary switch to change the pattern.The suction/magnet combo works very well. Combined with the lightweight nature of this light, it is highly likely that this could survive some serious wind. However, I tend to use my light when stationary, so I didn’t test the light when moving.Well worth a look, and a high quality product!
