I love this electric kettle. It is a splurge and I forced myself to wait until my old cheaper kettle died. It was worth it. The kettle is gorgeous and heats water up faster than my previous one. I also love the keep warm feature. I tend to use it for those mornings when the second pot of coffee or tea is required. I am very happy I bought it.

My wife really wanted this to match her SMEG toaster. When I saw the price, my jaw dropped. But, I went ahead and got it for her. We’ve had it 2 years now and here’s what stands out: Pros: • Heats water quickly and evenly • Multiple temperature options (great for tea and coffee) • Style: (4/5) Retro design that adds character to the kitchen; but very niche style. • Durability: (5/5) - still works like new after daily use Cons: • Exceedingly expensive for my taste Bottom line: The SMEG kettle delivers on performance and retro style, just be ready to pay the price, literally.

Looks much better than it works. It chimes every time you turn it on which is sometimes too loud and wakes people up in the morning. At about 1 year old the paint bubbled and a seal failed around the lid, so that when you pour it, steam burns your hand. I am trying to find out how to get a warranty return or replacement from the manufacturer since it passed the date for an Amazon return.
