It's changed my life
I used a Cricut for many years. But decided to upgrade to a laser cutter and I've not looked back. It's well made, looks great and does what it says. The accessories are handy and the support online has been excellent. This quality is what makes great businesses. The software support continues to be updated; there's some learning curve, but there are very few failed cuts, and that's always been down to material variability, then anything else.

Super versatile laser cutter & engraver
Bought this on a so called Amazon Prime day, but found out it was cheaper the week before. When I complained to Amazon they offered me the difference so can't complain. The X Tool laser itself is very good although there isn't much in the way of a user manual to get you started. Luckily there a lot of YouTube videos that will help. Have started to get the hang of it and I'm now cutting & engraving all sorts. Would say its the most expensive gadget I have ever bought but to me its worth it. One thing you really must do though is drill a vent for the 80mm extraction hose as the smoke produced from cutting wood can and will set off smoke detectors

A Great Purchase
After reviewing options available I chose the Xtool S1 20w as my choice. I am very happy I did! The machine was straightforward to setup and the XCS software is very intuitive, making using the machine instantly productive and very rewarding. There are a myriad of options, designs and projects available and to get started, Xtool have provided excellent examples with step-by-step instructions. Overall, I have been blown away and had many favourable comments on what has been produced. I am still exploring the machine capabilities and will be progressing from cutting and scoring to engraving. Every day is an exploring day with this machine.

It's great but...
I love this machine. Had it 48 hours and what a massive improvement over my 3018pro that I was using. It's so fast! I went for the 10w model as it was a "used" one and I couldn't resist the 50% discounted price. It cuts 3mm plywood like butter and was so quick and easy to set up. The manual is good, just don't expect a lot of "words" - you kinda have to just follow the pictures. From unwrapping to setting up it took me less than 10mins. My only criticism is how cheeky xtool are. There's no cutting bed, only these little triangle shaped pieces you lay in the bottom to rest stuff on. This is such a cop out and for the price of these machines there is no way they couldn't just include the proper honeycomb cutting grid with it as well as the triangle pieces. I looked to see if I can buy it separately... £169!!!! For a chunk of metal that probably costs less than £10 to make. Daylight robbery. So I've just bought a similar one from a competitor brand for £30. I'll just keep my eyes open on Ebay for a second hand one. Overall I'm very happy with the machine and will no doubt upgrade to the 40w module at some point in the future or even just go to the P2 when I need something more powerful.

The versatility and size of working bed
Brilliant laser engraver I have had several lasers before but not an enclosed one. The safety features are very good. Trying different materials this week have been relatively easy to do using the software that xtool provides. Luckily I purchased it during the Black Friday sale so saved money. I would definitely recommend the S1 20w laser by Xtool.

Highly recommended
**⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Huge Improvement – Highly Recommend!** This xTool laser engraver is a vast improvement over our first purchase, the xTool D1 Pro 10W. The engravings are far superior, and the faster engraving speed allows us to get much more done in less time. The customer service from xTool was also first-class when we needed to contact them. This package came with plenty of great add-ons, including the honeycomb, riser, and the rotary tool, which is very impressive. All in all, we’re very pleased with this purchase and would definitely recommend it!

Great machine
I was a bit scared of the s1 to start with just by the size of it, have had it nearly a month now and already have made some lovely things, the more I use it the easier it gets to use

Copied from my one-star review of the Creality Falcon2 Pro S: This is one of those “If I could give zero stars….” situations. My husband ordered the Creality Falcon for me as a Christmas present. It was not easy to set up, especially the top lid with its extremely thin plexi plastic, which was supposed to be aligned, miraculously in very small tracks while also trying to keep the whole thing together. I did finally get it put together, and I was able to do some etching on the sample piece of wood. Then I moved on to installing the rotary so that I could engrave some tumblers. This is where everything went downhill. Once the rotary was in place, I could not get past the flashing green light on the power button. I tried every tip I could find on YouTube and ChatGPT including resetting everything back to the original set up. I called their customer service line for help. I was surprised when someone answered the phone, while they didn’t speak English very well. I was relieved to talk to a human. After 15 minutes, she pointed me to the online chat button on their site and said that I would need to go there to resolve my problem. I made three attempts to sit in the queue for the online chat and finally reached what I assume was a real person. After about an hour waiting for the chat and then getting the live body on the line, every time they asked a question. I answered quickly and then sat waiting and waiting over and over again. This rep could not solve my problem either and said that someone would email me with further instructions. I asked them to call me and they said that wasn’t possible. I have yet to receive an email. I also submitted online support tickets and haven’t received any responses, not even auto generated ones. All around zero stars. I went ahead and ordered a different machine to compare while waiting on a resolution - the Xtool S1 with rotary bundle. The difference is night and day. It came almost fully assembled, is much higher quality, and has decent instructions in the manual. I was very impressed that the rotary kit came with a tape measure and a level too, which the Creality kit did not. The software is much easier and user-friendly. This model doesn’t include a camera, but I love the infrared cross that stays on continuously for lining things up, and corresponding cross in the design center that moves accurately around as you move the laser head. I also love that I can move the laser around with my hand, vs the slow arrow buttons on the Creality. Within a day, I’ve already tested out wood, alloy metal, and coated stainless steel tumblers using the xTool rotary with great success.

I've been using lasers for a few years now and I can honestly say that the xTool S1 20W is the best one I've used to date. The machine itself is sturdy, sleek and fast compared to other lasers I've had. And the software, xTool Studio, is soooo easy to use! I love how you can mark your work piece and position your image exactly where you want it. And on top of all that, if you're not very creative, they have many, many free files that you can access right from the software! How cool is that! I've been using the S1 for about 3 weeks now and couldn't be happier with it. I would definitely recommend it for beginners and pros alike. Next up...CO2!
