The Deep Calm Bathtub Tray Caddy is exactly what it says it is. Meaning, it is expandable. I expand it to 42". It does have grips that hold the tray in place on both sides of the tub. It's also easy to move the tray forward or back to accommodate its distance from you once you are in the tub. And the upright part of the tray is wide enough that it does hold a 12.9 inch iPad. I have placed an iPad, phone, bottle of water, eyeglasses, earbuds and a small towel on the tray and it holds all of it very well. Therefore I find it sturdy and extremely user-friendly. It's easy to set up. It only takes a minute while the tub is filling. The only minor downside is that the upright tray flops around if not stored flat. I put a large rubber band around that part to hold it place when I store the tray and that works fine. This is the only bathtub tray I've used, so I would guess that all the tray caddies that have the upright tray to hold a tablet or book probably swing loose when storing the tray. My suggestion would be to have something that snaps that part in place to hold it down when storing it. But this really is a minor point. Bottom line: It's a perfect bathtub tray for its price and all the designed slots to hold everything work perfectly. I've used it daily for a week and I love it. I bought this for myself; however, I would gift one to someone too as it's that nice.

Over all like the product but not a fan of when you fold it up the extenders don't stay in place, this is something I can fix tho. I also don't like I can't put the IPad stand at an angle to read with. Other then that I love this and sits/stays on my tub well

I am so glad I finally bought this! I was worried it wouldn’t feel sturdy enough when extended but I was completely confident that my iPad was safe on it.

Love my new bath caddy. No more holding my phone while soaking in the tub or trying to sit the phone on the side of the tub. The wood on this caddy is beautiful natural wood with a nice smooth & kind of glossy finish. The caddy moves easy & fits across my tub with room to spare. It also has some non-slip grips on the bottom to help keep it from sliding. I think you'll find it's sturdy enough to hold your drink & phone or tablet. I love the fact I did not have to assemble it, just pull it out the box & unfold it. I would recommend it.

Exactly as described and offers lots of features but unfortunately I can't leave a 5 star due to craftsmanship. Mine arrived chipped. I've decided to keep it but find it a little dissapointing and now wondering how long it will last.
